Default Rescuing pictures from a corrupt memory card

I came across this today, an article about how to retrieve photos from a memory card which has corrupted and won't let you view or download your photos. I don't know if it happens much (I saw some quote about memory cards getting ropey after 10,000 "writes" - mine's somewhere round that so I hope not) but this has info how to retrieve your pictures.

I had a sandisk card go bad, they replaced it but wouldn't retrieve the pics without charging. I got a free software called 'Zero Assumption', it worked well and was easy to use.

That's the one the article mentions. How long did your card last til it started playing up?

2-3 years. It was just one corrupt picture file that locked it up.

It does imply that re-formatting the card cleared up the problem (after he retrieved the photos). I do that regularly anyway when it fills up cos it's faster than deleting all the photos.
