I used to love 'Cheerio' Sauce (for some reason it had a happy sailor on the label)and it was made in Formby. I still look at the list of ingredients on brown sauce to make sure there is the right ratio of dates to apples :)
****(Drat!), now I want a bacon bin lid with brown sauce. I'll have to check out this site to find the best Liverpool Breakfast http://www.breakfastliverpool.blogspot.com/

I was always told it was an insult to whoever cooked the food to put sauce on it, and I love my 'full English breakfasts' without any sauce.
But a bacon butty and HP is heaven!

HP Goes Dutch -- from BBC on-line (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/west_midlands/4754351.stm) :( :( :(
I don't think I shared the following story with you as it occurred just over a year ago before I joined this forum.
I had an email in May 2006 from a producer in the U.K. who is producing a program on "Great British Brands" for Channel Four. They were going to be filming June 12-16 '06 and wanted to do a piece in which they would speak to me about my poem, "Ahh, Bisto!" (http://chrisgeorge.netpublish.net/Poems/AhhBisto.htm)
The brands they were featuring were Bisto, Hovis, Kit Kat, Pimms, and Odeon.
Unfortunately the producer had also gathered that I lived in the United States and when I asked if they would pay for me to fly over from the US of A for the filming thereof -- cheeky me -- she replied: "I'm afraid our minimal budget would not allow us to cover an expense of that size, we could just about manage a train from Surrey, but that wouldn't really help you!" Ahhhh, Drat! :(
It occurs to me though that I need to write more poems that mention products. Talk about selling out. :PDT11: :PDT_Aliboronz_24:
