I know this place very well. Sue's sister and her hubby have a big house here. Rooney's mum and dad also live here.

The park was laid out about 1850 as a private residential park with two lodges controlling the entrances, one on Queens Drive ( now ) and the other, Alder Road. The park was intended for the more prosperous businessmen of liverpool who were already finding West Derby to be an ideal dormitory area. Strict rules were drawn up regarding the size and cost of property that could be built there and an annual charge was made ech year for the upkeep and improvement of the park roads.
All these rules were incorporated in covenants which had to be undertaken by each new householder and many are still in force today.

Those first two pseudo mansions, are just gross! Given the choice,the older properties have much more appeal to me,but sad to see that not much progress has been made with the church,unless that's an old pic'? :sad:

Taken just two days ago i'm afraid. Brother Cadfael used to keep us up to date with the goings on there. From the interior pics on his site, it's not really a very big interior so i'd much prefer a heat efficient pseudo mansion ;)
