View Full Version : Yobs in the news again.
Sloyne 06-22-2007, 02:03 PM The on-line Post & Echo are reporting that the Liverpool home of the Mclaughlin family, Colleen McLaughlin is the fiance of the Manchester United footballer Wayne Rooney, has been vandalised by yobs spray painting, what the report describes as "sick graffiti".

PS: Please don't shoot the messenger.
Gutted for poor Colleen, no doubt they will move as a result. Of course, she shouldn't take it personally, it was an attack aimed at Mr Rooney. Jealously = nasty.
snappel 06-22-2007, 02:25 PM That's pathetic behaviour, and no doubt pure jealousy, I'm guessing from EFC supporters who are misguided enough to think they once 'owned' Rooney. It's such closed-minded behaviour. If I were a pro footballer I wouldn't restrict my potential by staying with my home club for my whole career. The guy's got ambitions and aspirations - he's not there purely to keep EFC fans happy.
Reminds me of similar grafitti from when Beckham left Man Utd and when Fowler left LFC. It's just stupid, and selfish. And also, references to Munich?! That's sick, really sick.
I'm no football fan at all, and I'm certainly not a Wayne Rooney fan, but I just hate the way some people don't like it when somebody else does well...
Paul D 06-22-2007, 02:52 PM It was about Munich and mentioned LFC so it's nothing to do with Everton fans apparently. If this constitutes news in our city then we should be grateful because in South London young kids are killing each other by the week,an eighteen year old girl was stabbed by another girl just this week.I sometimes think we over react here which has a negative effect on peoples psyche,no wonder we have low esteem.
And look how this woman aged 10 years since she appeared in court.

Paul D 06-22-2007, 03:15 PM It happens everywhere though, why do we insist in beating ourselves with a huge stick?

Sloyne 06-22-2007, 03:31 PM Point missed, I think. Wayne Rooney is an international clebrity, due of course to his footballing skills and association with what is probably the most famouse soccer team in the world, Manchester United, and as such will be news and not just himself but everyone immediately associated with him, not just in the Liverpool/Manchester areas but also worldwide. I have no doubt that this "news" item will be picked up abroad. But yes, I agree with PaulD that there does seem to be an over reaction to some news items and I also believe that Liverpool news outlets don't do Liverpool any favours when the keep dredging up old cases like the James Bulger killing.

Because this is the 'Local News' part of the forum??

But yobs in the news isn't news anymore, they're everywhere thanks to the gob****es that govern us.

I see your point Pat but the press will have a go at us no matter what, that article ****ging us off in the Irish press was a perfectm example,a book of condolence for Ken Bigley goes missing in Birmingham and it somehow makes it sound like it happened here just so he can make his point?

...
How could Fowler have got graffiti when he left LFC, he was sold by Houllier against his wishes.
snappel 06-22-2007, 05:51 PM Scallies with spraycans aren't as astute as you are ;)
Shapers 06-22-2007, 07:10 PM But yobs in the news isn't news anymore, they're everywhere thanks to the gob****es that govern us.
But the more we highlight and let our feelings known regarding the problem, its a small step towards getting those who govern us to tackle the problem. No point burying our heads in the sand.
