I happened to see a licence plate on a car this evening which read FAZAKLY. I know that Fazakerly is an English name and a district of Liverpool and I once sailed with an Eddie Fazakerly from Kirkby. So I am therefor thinking that this plate belongs to a Scouser and not someone named Fazakerly. Apart from the usual football related plates, has anyone else seen plates with an obvious Liverpool coonection?

I saw this one in Cheshire not too long ago:

K1NGO

I almost stopped to ask when and for how long but the moment passed.
I know a lot of lads who would pay handsomely for that one.

Here in Maryland as with other states, there are pictures on the license plates. One option as a Marylander is to get a license plate with a heron on it, for the protection of the Chesapeake Bay, with part of the money you pay for the license plate going to help clean up the Bay. It would be great if Liverpool could have a license plate with a Liver Bird on it, but I suppose UK license plates will continue to be just numbers and letters. For a look at the Maryland license plate have a look at

I've got WED 66S on my Capri...someone will pay a pretty penny for that! Our, Ontario, licence plates are for life and can't be resold. My new plates can be tranfered with the vehicle when I sell it and, I suppose, I could add a little to the sale price to cover the the cost of the plate but, who would buy a car just for the plate? Even if does read EVERTQN ?:)

I've seen the following Ontario plates which I assume are Liverpool related; BEATLES, ANFIELD, FLY LPL, MERZEE, SCOUSE, SCOWSE and I saw a Quebec plate in Myrtle Beach, SC. a few years ago, which was most likely a Manchester City supporters and it read I8MANU. The are lots of football related plates, more than there is probably space for but, here are two I remember seeing; EFCRGR8, LFC4ME.

PS: Nothing sinister about the colour just that Ontario plates are blue lettering of a white background.

Very good. Personalised plates are very expensive in the UK, when I say
personalised, I don't mean that you can make up your own and register it.
Jimmy Tarbucks plate was COM 1C. In theory in the UK the numbers letters
have to be a certain size and space between them. Just down the road
from me a girl has the plate J8CKY, which is supposed to be her name Jacky

There was a lawyer who parked his car in Myrtle Parade, L8.
His licence plate was L8 LAW.
A double reference to himself being a lawyer in Toxteth, and LA Law, the TV series.

A double reference to himself being a lawyer in Toxteth, and LA Law, the TV series. Very similar to one a friend of mine had made after he had been fired and out of work for over two years. We won his case at arbitration and he not only got reinstated with "full redress" but we demanded payment for "loss of earnings" which meant he was paid a percentage of overtime offered while he was out of work. He purchased a new Corvette with the award and had the following licence plate made; ACXMYRS. The AC was reference to the company and you can guess the rest. The guy was a Newfie, which is close to Liverpool.;) He still has the plate. Some people are very inventive.:)

Just saw this plate on a car driving south on Hurontario Street which read SEA4TH. Could be Liverpool related.
