Hi , I'm hoping some friendly Liverpudlians can help me out with a few questions before I visit Liverpool.

I have visited Liverpool many times but this time we've decided to stay at Signature Living Apartments , they're description says they are situated in Liverpool City centre but are they really ?

We're having a girls night away so can anyone tell me where would be a good pubs/clubs to visit on a Thursday night , we're ladies of various ages so not everyone will be into clubbing.

When I've visited before we got the bus from John Lennon airport which left us right outside the Ibis hotel at the Albert Dock , does anyone know if this bus or another one will bring us to Signature Living Apartments and how much will the bus fare be per person?

Finally , does anyone know if I can buy real pork scratchings , the ones from the butchers , not the packets they sell in pubs. I buy these everytime we visit Birmingham but I've never seen them in Liverpool.

Sorry for all the questions and thanks in advance for any information given :)

The apartments are in Victoria Street, virtually right in the heart of Liverpool. Have a look at Google maps. The Airport bus stops in near to St John's Precinct. Get off the bus turn right, walk up the road towards the Conservation Centre, cross over past the Centre and the next road is Victoria Street. Cost about £2 - £3 I think.

The Cavern quarter has a host of pubs and places to eat which are suitable for all ages. The Craven quarter is at the back of Victoria Street, past the Met Quarter.

Pork Scratchings? Absolutely no idea - not my type of snack!

Don't think you can get real pork scratchings here - well, I've never noticed them in any butchers.
Only the packet ones you get in pubs.

Pork scratchings are what Midlanders think of as a delicacy. They are made from pig skin & fried crisp. If you look closely you'll see some hairs still on them.
Are you still interested?

Living in the heart of scratching country, I only partly agree. There are many, many different varieties and few have hair left on them - though I did once get a nipple!
They come in a variety of shapes and level of hardness, from teeth-cracking to just a light crunch, almost like Quavers. Used to be quite addicted but have gone off them over the years - I think the nipple was a turning point.
