We've been running these Challenges on the flickr group for a few months now, so decided to give the forum members the same opportunity.
Each month, you can post two photos that fit in with the selected theme. They must be taken by you and preferably somewhere in the Merseyside area (include a location so we all know where it is). The winner gets to choose the following month's Theme and winner, unless they'd prefer not to, in which case that task falls to the site administrators.
Photos can be added upto and including the 30th March and the winner will be selected the following day, in time for choosing April's Theme. So get posting your photos.
Don't forget, it's only a bit of fun

My camera is away for servicing and should be here for tomorrow? that means I have one day to find a composition that should win. lol
Seriously anyone with none point and shoot camera? there should be a setting on the camera to switch to B&W from colour,or you shoot colour and discard colour in paintshop pro or a paint program you use? or the program you usually get with a new camera?

George considering the winner gets to pick April's theme, how can we start the April challenge when Marchs winner hasn't been chosen ?
The reason why it's the 30th, is to give us time to arrange with the winner the theme for April. If they can't be contacted by the end of the 31st then admin will select the next theme

Correct Kev, as long as Corky is happy to do it. If not it reverts back to the management ie you :)
Not a complaint but....who got to judge and how was it judged to win the March submissions?
First month winner is chosen by me and future months are chosen by the winner of the previous month. It's one of the rewards for winning.
and it's judged on personal preference

It was. The selected theme for March was Black and White.

It was. The selected theme for March was Black and White. But that ain't a theme, choosing between B&W & Colour is a Grade not a theme.
A theme is a proposed gender of pics ie a building an obstacle an monument a doorway ect,ect
---------- Post added at 10:30 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:16 AM ----------
Oh and another ting. :)
What if the months winner selects a theme for the following month and ends up in hospital near the end of the month and Kev goes on holiday...who decides the winner for that month? :002::unibrow:

Clearly George we all wish the very best to Corky and wish him too the very best of health and ask him not to dwell on the double-edged-sword aspect of what is the monthly prize.
[not that I am attempting to influence anybody into making "health, wealth and happiness" next month's theme] :)
Bloody hell George - are you a glass half empty kinda bloke or what?

George, Ged is an admin so the task would fall to him.. if Ged has unfortunately fallen head first into his drum kit at the same time as the other two event have happened then since I came up with the challenge idea, I'll pick the winner and theme.
If I've also encountered some tragic event then there's a good chance the world has possible ended and we won't care about the challenge for next month
But thanks for getting me to clear up that issue, as I'm sure others were worried about it too
oh and one of the many definitions of the word Theme is subject: the subject matter of a conversation or discussion; I would think that in this thread instance black and white would come under that definition

well regardless, thanks for choosing mine,, and thanks for the comments :)
I've given Smurfy the theme for April, and it should be quite easy for anyone to find something that would fit ;-)
I will try not to fall off the ferry, in front of a bus or run into the road during the school run - that way theres a chance i can still be around to try pick a winner for next time :D. Assassination attempts however are another thing.... :D
Thanks again, good luck to Aprils entrants!
