Given the choice of any location on the planet, for a two week stay, where would you choose and why? This was a discussion we had around the patio fireplace at the weekend. Some strange places and reasons were given.

The Isle of Man with my car. 2 weeks of no speed limit roads followed by some excellent beer and some amazing views! :PDT11

York again.

I was young back when I visited It but now thinking of It the Village buildings It had It would be great to go back.

I have grown a soft spot for villages and village areas in cities.

India :Smiliz_Kingz_PDT_13

The best place i have ever been, the people are fantastic, the history facinating and it is so cheap, I would love to attend an Indian wedding-the celebrations go on for ages.
The respect they show for thier elders , i have never come across this any where else i have ever been .
I go for 3 wks every year, and even if i won the lottery  this is the place i would return to :)

Hong Kong.
I lived there for two years back in the seventies. :PDT_Xtremez_42: I'd love to go back just to see how it's changed. The tallest building back then was the Jardine Building near Star Ferry. It looks tiny now on Google Earth next to the Finance Centre Tower.
Lo Wu border station (The Bridge) is now a bloody city!
I lived in an underground :034: bunker back then in the middle of a field.

No.... Not in the bunker for two years!

Liverpool would be my first choice always...

But if I had a second pick I'd go to japan to see the shrines and the cherry trees in bloom. That would go over.

I'm afraid far flung and busy places don't do it for me. Alvor on the Algarve for me, where we've been for the last 10 years and watched our kids grow from building sandcastles to drinking with us on the strip.

No capsule hotels for me Max I'm too claustrophobic for that LOL.
But a nice old fashionned Ryokan would be nice. Always wanted to try those old traditional japanese hotels.:PDT_Aliboronz_24:

Funny you should ask. I;m just back from 2 weeks in Ullapool, in the Highlands of Scotland. Fabulous place. Such an easy pace of life, everyone's dead friendly. Fresh air. Mountain views. (bloody steep mountains they are too!). Wide open spaces. Hours and hours of driving with the roads pretty much to yourself. I wanna go back right now :(

I would spend two weeks ( and stretch that time out to last for the rest of my life.)

In the warm hold of somebody who really cared about me.
