I've heard nothing about this being made into a trendy bar but I think it's a great idea if it is.I thought that revolving bit would've looked a bit daft on a derelict building, the last thing you want to do is draw attention to it.

Remember when St John's Tower revolved? Nah! Didn't think so.

Jeezus! How I hate all you young Scouse whippersnappers and all that you have to look forward to in Liverpool! You don't deserve it.

I fought in the war in for you lot. Canny Farm v Kirkby:PDT_Aliboronz_24:

Hey Dave I remember when St John,s revolved. Went there twice for a quiet meal with a friend:Colorz_Grey_PDT_16:know what I mean like? Prices at the time were £14 for us both in the early seventies with the bottle of Blue Nun as well:rolleyes:

I went once when it revolved too, for the novelty then up to the observation deck.

I also remember the Canny mob's HQ too.

I went there once as well, I think the prices had come down by the time I went. The one problem was that if you went to the toilet by the time you came back out your table had moved and you did not know wheather to chase it or wait for it to come around again! :)

Catching the train at Moorfields yesterday, saw the revolving part of Yates and was quite impressed. Something different anyway. Bet it'll make a few people do a double take and check their glasses!

I read about this ages ago.
Isn't it just going to be an art piece on a derelict building before the building gets demolished?
I don't think I heard of any bar reopening.

There is no bar there - the building is very definitely derelict.

Got no pictures of Cannibal Farm Max, but lots of memories mate. Ged, not the Barley Mow...it brings back me phantom eebie jeebies. arms and legs hanging up behind the bar waiting for their occupants to come and claim them.

I lived there when it was Stockbridge Village too, maybe still is. They put paths in for people to walk on instead of the road.

one of my fellow workmates from Mill Road Hospital was killed walking in the road there when there was no pathways.

Gerard, ask him to design a revolving one at the pier head and put all these weirdos on it and when it turns to face the Mersey, the floor drops out. Rodders can be on standby to video it too :)

Thanks for that Rodders. I quite like it it,s so out of this world. I could see that type in Lime Street somewhere, maybe on the side of St Georges Hotel.

Seriously though, I take it it's actually funded privately and isn't out of the local taxpayers pocket, if so they'll just persue whatever they'll get planning permission for, I suppose it's a talking point, whether it'll bring in sightseers I don't know, I don't see burger vans and ice cream vans raking it in on Moorfields.

I love it!
Think it's quite spectacular.

Nothing to do with liking art.
Just that it's so unusual.

I'll be round there with my camera.
I took a snap a few months ago before the building was altered.
Will post it when I find which disk it's on.

Hello chippie,Thank you Sir...
Its not art Lad...its a revolving floor..And thats that :unibrow:

Arty farty Banana's and the likes of that rubbish have no function in life only for people who ponder over them to declare them masterpieces..

The same type of people who looked at a Monkeys work in a gallery and declared that a Masterpiece...All follow suit if you catch my drift thinking its the right thing to say to be in "The Know"...
Then they get informed it was the work of a Monkey..I would have loved to have been there chippie..I would have been rollin' everywhere laughin' me ead off..
Now I like lookin' at nice pictures as much as anyone but I dont mind admitting I have not got a clue what Im looking at..(A bit like the Experts praising the monkeys work eh ??)

This might all change though when me Beatles Dvd is a best seller and I'm minglin' with arty fartys in the Town hall sippin' El chatee Plonko chattin' a load of ..Well yer know what I mean...
Me ??..Change ??..not on your nelly matey :unibrow:

It had been working round about 2 o'clock today.

I'd missed it by about 5 minutes, and waited about half an hour to see if it would work again, but it didn't, so I went to Eastham, for a change.

Don't like it one bit. Good idea i suppose in a derelict building. Just hope they do something with the site pronto.

And if anyone wants a decent pub there, pop up the road to The Lion. Good beer, good pub and my local.

I'm surprised that someone hasn't cashed in and reopened the old Yate's wine lodge for the period of exhibition. I guess it's too derelict inside and/or there are health and safety concerns about the exhibit coming off its track
