When we were kids we would go to a little park by Browside called Rupert Park, near by there is a building that looks like the Everton f.c. emblem.
We tried the door and it opened, inside looked like a cell with the window bricked up.
I went home and asked my Dad what it was, he said that Prince Rupert had taken refuge there, then made his escape down a tunnel to the Mersey in the civil war.
All these years later I'am wondering if there is any truth in this tale.
Does anyone know if this is true or not.
