Silvester Street

Having been born in Oxford Terrace, I should be interested to know when Great Oxford Street became Silvester St.
Could it be when St Sylvester's Church was built?
Going further back when did Pinfold Lane become Vauxhall Road?

No mention on the Streetname site and gleaned the above from the 'Churches' Site.
I assume Grt Oxford Street must have been renamed Silvester Street, when St. Sylvesters was opened, although they ignored the 'y' and used the letter 'i'.

Wow, these sites brought back some memories.
The 'Black Church' (after its' bombing) was the best adventure (and dangerous) playground, ever!
Rumour had it that if you could run around the perimeter with some sugar in your mouth and make it before the sugar dissolved, you'd see the Devil!!
