I recently bought the complete series of Lilies on DVD and I thoroughtly enjoyed it but it led me to remember a film I saw a few years back and I just cant remember the name.
Could you help ?
The film was about a group of children packed off to Australia in I think the early fifties. The two main characters were a lass whose Mum had voluntarily put her in a home but always meant it to be temporary and the authorites shipped the daughter off anyway. The other main character was a lad who always thought of his Dad as being a Pilot in the second world war when really he never knew his father. He ended up in borstal in Australia after suffering horrific abuse.
The story ends with the lasses mother finally being able to travel to Oz and find her long lost daughter.
Its driving me nuts trying to remember the name of the film or even the name of the actress who played the daughter because I know Ive seen her in tother stuff.
