Funny how the red pen always seems so much more important than the blue one ?:unibrow:

Nice one Shank, I don't have much time for anyone who has to resort to knocking someones poor grammar or spellink mistakes.
Keep on posting mate. :PDT11

People have told me they've bought forgeries for 20 quid a go, the tickets dont look too hard to forge but there is some sort of electronic entry I believe. I'm getting there 3 hours before the game its going to be complete chaos outside.
Sorry you took my reply to heart Shank. The fact is the fans are soft and fickle and that's any team. They will and did pay extortionate prices, not just for tickets but for airfare and d'ya know what, they'll be back again next time for more that's why fifa, uefa the f.a. and all the rest in positions of footy importance couldn't give a **** my dear.
snappel 05-24-2007, 12:31 PM Kinda like having no pen at all.
No, it's like choosing your own pen and not giving a **** about the colour.
Anyway... judging by the news reports plenty of people with genuine tickets didn't get in. Seems like a complete cock-up. Ok, we've only heard the fans' side of things, but it's pretty shocking if the ground is announced to be 'full' and there are ticketholders turned away.
A mess, either way.
True Snappel. The powers that be couldn't organise a you know what.
A 70 thousand seater reduced to 60K because of advertising hoardings should still see 30k tickets to each set of supporters (even I can work that out) but instead the toffs at the top and the grass roots teams and players at the bottom have to get some too. Problem is, they don't support the teams involved in the final so they either pass them on or sell them off (somewhere down the line a genuine supporter then pays hundreds for it) but if you're asked where you bought it and point the finger, it's you who gets done for obtaining it by dubious means. If they were all numbered as to the end user, it could easily been ascertained who sold what where. Then there's the travel firms openly advertising coach/flight trips with ticket included - how do they manage that.
So in essence - Lfc get 17,500 tickets to sell to 40 thou fans and even they admit that the fan card/season ticket/lottery ideas they have so far come up with are not the answer, but like I said it still won't deter the fans next time, they are cannon fodder and sheep and it's why they are treated as such. Don't expect too much and then you won't be let down.
shank 05-24-2007, 01:55 PM All the fans who had a gen ticket and where stopped from going in you now have the power to hit uefa where it hurts (in there pocket) you should unite and take legal action against them .they have broken there contract you bought a ticket and where refused entry you can sue for the price of the ticket the cost of your flight and expenses occurred. if this is done you can bet it wont happen again. scum bags get to these finals and spoil it for genuine fans but you must blame uefa if the powers that be who run glastonbury rock festival can produce a ticket with your picture on and your address on iam sure uefa can do the same.

To be fair that's what I'd try and do...

Whatever makes you happy I suppose.
Personally I'd find it a dull world if nobody gave a **** about football or other inconsequential sports.
snappel 05-24-2007, 04:12 PM I wouldn't. Personally I'm interested in a few less-popular sports like BMX, classic motorcycle racing and trials, but on the whole I tend to be interested in the things I do. Or rather, do the things I'm interested in. That said, I haven't ridden any of my bikes in a long time.
Whatever floats your boat, I suppose. But I still sympathise with those LFC supporters who had tickets but were denied access to the ground.
I only watched the Match yesterday because I was invited to the pub.
My mates Dad nearly got Into a fight with an Evertonian because he came In right after the game and rubbed It In LFC fans faces.
Paul D 05-24-2007, 05:30 PM I really sympathise with the fans with genuine tickets who never got in but if I'd been going the game constantly for years and had travelled all that way for the game there's no way some corporate leach was going to have my seat,I'd have got in whatever it took. This is what you go the game for all season and spend vast amounts of money doing so in the process.I see Stan Collymore had a genuine fans ticket because he was a ex player, this just shows how crap football has become,no one cares about the fans. When will people finally wake up to that fact, you're all just cash cows waiting to be milked.
scouse mouse 05-24-2007, 06:01 PM But I still sympathise with those LFC supporters who had tickets but were denied access to the ground.
Obviously, who wouldn't feel sorry for them ?
I also feel sorry for those who followed the reds all season and couldn't get tickets because UEFA thinks it's more important to have a bunch of phonies there who couldn't care less about the game.
Libertarian 05-24-2007, 07:32 PM The city of Liverpool has once again been brought into disrepute by those people who travelled to the game without tickets. Why go if you do not have a ticket? It beggars belief

Why when was the other time ?

It's hardly an alien concept, I've lost count of the times I've travelled to a big game with the hopes of buying a ticket outside. I'm sure there are tens of thousands of supporters who would all do the same.

A mate of mine won an all expenses competition to go there in the VIP suites. He hated every minute of it, one idiot in there didnt know who to support but opted for Liverpool when he saw they were sponsored by a brewery.

I met lots of genuine fans over there without tickets who either got screwed by the ballot but had made travel arrangements anyway or had just travelled to be part of the occasion and watch the game on a big screen somewhere.
These people are different to the scum who rob tickets off families or bully and intimidate others to force their way in. Even if Liverpool were given 100,000 tickets for a game, they would still act the way they did because they are incapable of playing by the rules.
