Plenty at the old picket John. It was on our 'top end' pub crawl of The Phil, Chaucers, Plummers, Kirklands, Hardys and Streets initially in the 80s but then when some of the better groups were on we'd stay in there longer or even some times most of the night.

I remember seeing OMD on Mountford Hall in 1979 when I worked in Quiggin Bros 86a Renshaw St. We were having a liquid lunch in the Masonic, Berry St, later the stag and Rainbow and then the Liverpool brewery co (or something) when one of our workmates came in and said there's supposed to be a good group on up there and so we all trudged off and got back to work very much later - the boss was not amused.

I was in a group myself at the time and the local talent (groupwise) back then were Dejavu, Blue Vein and Riley (who became Groundpig and are still going although poor little Graham died a year or 2 ago)

A flock of Seagulls were doing the rounds and just breaking through too and we went to a party in Toxteth with them.

So which band were you in?

I knew Mike Score when he had the hairdressers in Whitechapel and Frank worked there, I remember watching them practise in the attic and Mike telling me they were calling thenselves AFOS I thought what a crap name and told him so

I saw OMD in Erics they always played in the back of the club not on the stage.

The band was called Perspective. We did 95% covers and a few we knocked together ourselves. Phil Reynolds lived on the Easby estate in Kirkdale facing my then wife to be who I hadn't yet met. Frank Mawdsley, who now has Frank's news on Dale st was the brother of one of the Riley band members.

All our band members were in Mabel Fletcher music college, I was the only one working full time and that took it's toll in the end, it was one or the other and a regular job had to win hands down but it was great fun.
