I was just looking at a property web-site and noticed that a house for sale in Breckside Park is listed as being in Fairfield.

Well, I've never heard of Breckside Park being there !! It will officially be classed as Tuebrook I expect - it will be in the Tuebrook ward - but we still class it as being in Anfield. The boys school Anfield Comp used to be in that same road.

Why do they do this ?? Surely estate agents should get their districts correct.

If they did get the districts right, they wouldn't sell any houses.
Get a veiwing and maybe sell it.

Not housing so much, but a friend from work a while back had more success with job applications when she put her address as Edge Hill rather than Kensington.

Don't you believe it. Wimpey are advertising new property in Olive Mount, Wavertree as being in Childwall

Like I said if they were to put were properties really were, they would not
sell, area stigma does exist

Yes, that very large house for sale in Breckside might not attract many potential buyers if it was listed under humble Anfield or Tuebrook ! Ha!

.... Fairfield is no posher though - it's only on the other side of Newsham Park and runs into Kenny !

Fairfield is Kensington, just outside Newsham Park.

Its amazing how constructive estate agents are with their descriptions. I am currently looking to move to West Derby and am finding loads of places that are more Norris Green or Tuebrook/Stoneycroft being listed as West Derby.

Fairfield is Kensington, just outside Newsham Park.

I thought that was Elm Park.
In 1958 I lived for a short while in Onslow Road and the address was Elm Park.

yes, I think Elm Park is the official postal address for those roads off Sheil rd, ie; Huntly, Swiss, Onslow, etc.

The road Elm Park which runs through to Prescot rd, must be addressed as Elm Park, Elm Park, L'pool. ?? :)

As you come out of Old Swan just past the Dales of Liverpool where the police play football there used to be a Kensington sign and now it says Fairfield.
