Hi!

I'm an LFC fan from Poland :) Who do you think will win tomorrow in the Champions' League semi-final? I like English football, but still I hope it'll be Milan... simply because I believe it'll be easier for the Reds to beat Milan than MU...

Hello kasia-s

Well we beat AC Milan last time so I don't see why we can't again if we both reach the final. Chelsea and Man U have to be both disappointed with their draws over the weekend. Both sides looked dull compared to the sharp looking Reds. As Gerrard and other players have said, it could be that Liverpool are peaking at just the right time to win the trophy! I hope so!

I have to say that I think Milan will beat Man U over the two legs. Playing the first leg at Old Trafford won't help United either. I think we can beat Chelsea over the two legs but I don't think we would beat Milan again.

Famous last words, Mark? We'll soon see. Actually, I think Liverpool have a special magic about them on such occasions, call it luck, or destiny or whatever. While we might have been predicted to have beaten West Ham in the F.A. Cup Final last year, probably not many would have predicted our victory in the Champions League Final vs AC Milan last time or the F.A. Cup Final vs Arsenal in 2001. I think Liverpool has a knack in cup competitions that they don't have in the league so far.

Of the 4 European finals we contested in the 70s we only played 2 teams - Monchengladbach and Bruges. We also beat Dynamo Dresden on the way to 3 of those 4 triumphs. Maybe history is repeating itself this decade.

Hopefully milan will get an away goal or two but at the moment I can't see it even though united have a lot of injures in defence, please God prove me wrong.

but I don't think we would beat Milan again.

Why ? Liverpool have a much better squad than they did in 2005, and Milan are definitely nowhere as strong.

For what it's worth if we get past Chelsea I'm hoping to god that it's Milan in the final and not manu, nothing to do with an easier game, I just think that the atmosphere in Athens would be horrible and the potential for trouble would be too great.

Hi scouse mouse

I rather agree with you about the potential for crowd trouble if it turns out to be a Liverpool - Man U final in Athens, unfortunately. :(

A curiosity, prefer C Ronaldo or Kaka?

Mark R

Kaka is the better player. He was by far Brazil's best player at the World Cup.

Just because we have a better squad than in 2005 doesn't really mean anything. I would love to see us stuff Chelsea and Man U more than anyone but I'm not sure. I agree with you Chris that we seem to thrive on destiny so let's hope you're right!!

Milan are still a class team. No one gave them a hope in hell in Munich but they beat Bayern 2:0.

Did anyone see the Premiership team of the season? 8 Man U players in it. I think there are several better players than some of theirs who didn't even get a look in. Carragher's omission is an absolute disgrace. And Finnan has been far superior than Gary Neville.

Thanks, Mark. I have not seen the listing for the Premiership team of the season and would appreciate a link if you have one. I agree that Carragher should be on there. I presume Gerrard is included. The trouble is that Man U gets all the attention and even if some of their players are so so, they get attention because of the accomplishments of the team. While I think Mourinho is a pompous ass and a whiner he is correct to the extent that decisions seem to go Man U's way while they don't to other sides. :disgust:

That late goal was like a kick in the guts,I can't bare the thought of shrek lifting the Champions League or any of them for that matter.

I think that Kaka and C Ronaldo have different possition, and its too difficult to choose who is the best footballplayer.
Sincerily, I am not sympathic with C Ronaldo, and maybe, I cannot be objetive. So, I prefer others.

These things are always a bit of a joke, especially this year.

There isn't an objective manu or Chelsea supporter who wouldn't swap Ronaldo or Drogba for Steven Gerrard, but not only was Gerrard behind both of them in the poll he was even behind Paul Scholes.

As I said, it's a joke innit ?

Hi Chris

That PFA Team of the Year:

Edwin van der Sar
Gary Neville
Nemanja Vidic
Rio Ferdinand
Patrice Evra
Ryan Giggs
Paul Scholes
Cristiano Ronaldo
Steven Gerrard
Didier Drogba
Dimitar Berbatov

Glad to see that Berbatov was there though - really great player. Also think Arteta & Finnan should have been there.

According to a radio phone-in I was listening to, Lescott and Finnan have been the opta stats most consistant players in any team this season. I suppose with talent like Fabregas and Henry, Arsenal could feel hard done by too but you can only pick 11. If they came out in that order you listed, Man Utd supposters must've thought they were just going to name their team only.

I think Liverpool have a great chance we have a good squad who will now be rested and its being played on a one off game and don't forget United beat Milan at Old Trafford, I don't think Milan took lots of supporters (I may be wrong on that) but I remember Turkey was full of Reds so that will help.

After the utterly draining events of Tuesday it was great to relax and watch the mancs get embarrassed by Milan.

They're having the Champions League 3rd and 4th place play-off held at Wembley this year. They're calling it the F.A. Cup final.

Just watching the bbc breakfast the sports commentator talking about the Man U trouncing last night siad that the dream final has been ruined he then said "It wont be Man U versus Liverpool or Chelsea now ", like why did he need to mention Chelsea then as they'd already been tipped out by us, as a consequence of Tuesday night it would never have been Chelsea, so why bother saying it or mentioning the sad bunch of blue losers. And as regards Jose why doesnt one of the so called sports commentators pull him about his ludicrous comments, maybe you laguhing at him would be a start. the man is totally deluded.....and when is Drigba ever going to eb booked or sent off for diving

I was right with my predictions - I just hope I'm wrong with the last one...

We are playing as the 'away' team in Greece - I just hope Milan stick to wearing their away strip of all white. Call me superstitious but all the previous European Cups we have won, the teams we have beaten have wore all white...
