A 43-YEAR-OLD man was shot during the early hours of today.

The victim called an ambulance after suffering pellet injuries at 2.45am. He was taken to hospital but later discharged himself.

Police say he is refusing to co-operate with their inquiries.

They have cordoned off a house in Fernhill Road, Bootle, which they believe may be the crime scene.

High-visibility police patrols have also been stepped up in the area.

Not the first time things like this have happened, he probably knows who did it and would probably do the same to others himself.

This is not unusual. It was probably a warning over something.
If he said anything to the police, then he would really be in trouble.

Not knowing the full story, most would presume he knows them as aquaintances of an illegal nature and hes simply not 'grassing'. But could also be a neighbour or a gang of louts who run wild in the area and he won't talk for fear of reparcussions. Which is understandable.

If it was the first reason, i think it would be good if the Police cold minimise, his hospital treatment until he talks. But of course, there would be a lot of dead tightlipped men.
