THE growth of Liverpool over eight centuries is charted in a major exhibition launched at the Metropolitan Cathedral (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liverpool_Metropolitan_Cathedral) tomorrow. “Blessings” celebrates the city’s 800th birthday and the role the Roman Catholic community has played.

I was invited to the preview evening tonite as they used Yo! Liverpool as a source of information for the exhibition, makes me very proud :)

A MAJOR display celebrating Liverpool’s 800th anniversary was launched at the Metropolitan Cathedral yesterday.

Entitled Blessings, the exhibition – assembled by the cathedral’s staff and volunteer – charts the growth of the city through the events which have shaped it.

This exhibition offers people the chance to join Liverpool’s birthday celebrations and delve into the city’s fascinating past, seeing Liverpool’s astonishing growth from a humble hamlet to a major port and one of the world’s greatest cities.

The city’s two cathedrals proclaim, because there is a God who renews, heals and forgives, every story can become a blessing, a reason to give thanks to God and a source of encouragement, challenge and inspiration for today.

The Cathedral is amazing inside, the colours of the natural light are stunning.
