The 558ft Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth has finally opened, five years late. The £35.6m project was originally supposed to open at the turn of the millennium, but a series of problems constantly delayed its completion.

It has been touted as BIGGER than B/pools tower, which it is technically, but its viewing platforms are 50 ft lower than the Towers.

Rebuild New Brightons tower, I demand it for 2007 ;)

I can still remember the dipper, before it fell down, and the ballroom after the fire .... what a bloody waste.

Liverpool could do with their own Spinnaker Tower. It looks amazing and you can view it from afar. Unlike Portsmouth, there's something to look at in Liverpool once you get up to the top:rolleyes:

No offence to Pompey. I love the city and the people are a good craic.

Looks so out of place :ninja:I go down to Portsmouth quite a lot.I lived there for 15 years.When you see it in the flesh.It looks brill.The view you get from the top,is something quite out of this world.I love It
