Hello everyone!
First of all, Kev gave mi his official permission to post this request... :) :) :)
I'm a student from central Europe and I need to get access to people whose mother tongue is English.
If English is your first language, please visit www.research2007.republika.pl and complete a short questionnaire (some questions may be a bit tough, but any answer is OK as long as it is yours).
This would help me with my MA diploma project.
I'd be grateful for every single response.
Thanks in advance!
Kasia

Hello Kasia
I am pleased to help you. Dealing with the language is my profession as an editor and writer so I am pleased to talk about it and fill in your questionnaire. I encourage other members to do so as well.
Kasia, tell us a bit more about yourself, what country you are in, etc., and what brought you to the Yo Liverpool forum.
Best regards
Chris George
Hi Kasia,
I've completed your questionnaire, quite interesting and thought-provoking!
Good luck with your research.

Kasia s,
You as a foreign student probably have a better knowledge of the language than a lot of the native people who take it for granted and abuse it.
I've thought that many a time, that people to whom English is a 2nd language speak it better than us.
My grammar checker made a couple of changes to that sentence before I posted it too :unibrow:

Thank you for being sooo supportive and thanks for all the effort you took to complete the form, I know it takes some time! Thanks for all your help, thanks for all these nice words :)
To iain and shytalk: foreign students will always make mistakes, unfortunately :( There may be some exceptions, but the majority of us will never be completely sure of things that are so obvious to you :) But that's the way it is...
And now about me: I'm from Poland; I was searching for some message boards where I could post my request and then I saw Yo Liverpool... I couldn't resist the temptation :unibrow: First of all, I used to be a great Beatles fan some time ago; secondly, I'm a footie freak and my favourite club is LFC (though I've nothing against Everton... that LFC and Everton are rivals may matter for people who live in Liverpool, England, UK, but not for someone who is so far away from all that :) ). Also, I like the sound of Scouse (OK, I won't pretend I understand everything... but I like listening to it and I'd like to be able to speak it...)
And now Yo Liverpool is yet another reason for liking Liverpool :)
