Has anyone had any trouble with posting a review online about a Liverpool company that you have had dealings with.
I have just received an email saying that legal proceedings are being taken against me because I posted on a site that the company a few days before installation wanted to charge me hundreds of pounds more.
Their contract stated that I as the customer was unable to cancel or alter anything 24 hours after it was signed but they wanted to alter it by raising the price by a third ?
I of course was unhappy because my house was left open with no windows and doors again for weeks .
I was threatened because I said I was going to post what I thought about their customer service. They contacted me after I said to leave me alone. It happened in July 2010 and now months after it all has happened they have done this.
They have no good reviews online at all.
They are bullies and have put my full name ,address ,private emails and email address online for everyone to see.
I wanted to know if anyone has any advice to offer me.
BTW I stand by everything I wrote in my review except for saying the receptionist is an idiot.
She is in my opinion but it was still rude of me.

Sounds like you need to get some legal advice, if u haven't already. With regards to that, this site might be a better option for you

But aside from that, Welcome to Yo :)

Thank you for the welcome.
I was a bit distressed before but I am calm now.
I think they are trying to bully me .
I will get proper legal advice.I find it incredible that you cannot leave a review on a site without getting threatened with legal action.
I just stated my case.
I think that they have also breached the data protection act by putting all my private details online.
I shall take advice about that too.
Anyway great site and really enjoying reading the posts.

I'm not sure, but I think they may have,at least technically, broken the law by posting your details, but by the same token, you may have also? It's probably just bravado on their part, but I would seek some sort of legal advice in case it escalates!
I've had my own dealings with dodgy tradesmen, and had to call their bluff, which was all it turned out to be,in the end! Welcome to Yo by the way!

Yep sounds like classic scare tactics. I can't understad what legal avenue they could chase as it doesn't sound like you said anything either untrue or libellous. Legal advice is a definite option, and also speak to the Office of fair trading and if they are affiliated to any Professional Bodies (they'll advertise it), speak to them too.
Keep a copy of all correspondence as evidence. Just don't name names, make threats or post anything thats untrue online, its the latest way of people filing libel cases, including comments, forum posts and other webpage comments. Its just the culture we find ourselves in today.

Oh for heavens sake, this scare tatics.

If a company is going to take legal action against you they won't get in touch with you...its their solicitor that will do that.
