Everton play a friendly at Goodison every summer, but Liverpool never do if they are involved in Champions League qualifiers. The last Anfield pre season friendly at Anfield was against Valencia in 2003. So far, Liverpool's only confirmed pre season dates are the Feyenoord tournament in Rotterdam 3-5th August.

Everton also played a friendly against Athletic Bilbao on 4th April 1989 for Kevin Ratcliffe's testimonial. For some reason I went, perhaps because it was a rare opportunity to see a foreign team during the European ban. If I remember correctly Everton won the game 1-0.
