View Full Version : Currently Active Users
scouserdave 04-08-2007, 04:18 PM I was given this piece of advice from one of our forumers recently. Post a message/thread, then go down to the bottom of the page and click on "Currently Active Users" and see who checks out your thread and responds or not. Brilliant!:unibrow:
lindylou 04-08-2007, 04:21 PM ooh, that's good, I'll have a look. :)
scouserdave 04-08-2007, 04:23 PM Check me out. I'm looking at your post. See if it works. I'll stay on the thread for a few minutes more:)

Is this not the same as
Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 2 (2 members and 0 guests)
john, scouserdave
Seen at the bottom of each thread?

Hi Dave
Since you are a longtime poster in this forum I surprised you have only just noticed the "currently viewing this thread" info. I have to say that I have the habit, good or bad, of viewing a thread and then leaving for a few hours, still in that thread though I am elsewhere doing other things. I am sure others may do the same thing. If this takes up bandwith as Kev might say it does, stopping others getting into the forum, I would be glad to stop doing it. Kev???

Its no problem Chris and hasn't been a concern having it available to registered users. Maybe Scouserdave doesn't have the wrist strength to scroll down to the bottom often :PDT_Xtremez_42:.
Cheers
scouserdave 04-08-2007, 06:29 PM Oh dear.
I hope the recent posts and PM from Kev about my thread are not concerted.

Chris you are an even more longtime poster than myself. I'm surprised at your post. We are all different mate. No need to go into detail and justify your actions, I'm cool mate:PDT11

I love you mate. So keen to respond, yet in your haste like Chris, forgetting that a member from 2005 who also replied, knew nothing about the "Currently Active Users" either:)
lindylou 04-08-2007, 07:42 PM I only found out about 'manage attachments' a few months back ! Ha!
trouble is that I just about have the time to whizz thru' reading the posts and don't always stop to test the options. :)

I wasn't have a go mate, that's why a smiley face was used and will be used again :)
I just didn't see the point of the post and it's a bit strange wanting to see if people will read your post. If it's that good a post, then people will read and reply - you just click on 'new posts' when you next enter the website. You don't sit there all day pressing the F5 button to refresh the screen do you?
lindylou 04-08-2007, 07:48 PM actually, I did know that you can see what a member is viewing if you click on their profile. I noticed that by chance one time. :)
The list of currently active members is quite interesting to have a nose at from time to time. :unibrow:
it's mildly interesting to glance at if you've run out of things to read perhaps ! :)
I often use 'quick links' - a quick way to keep up with the most recent posts.

Didn't think you were having a go at all mate. Just responding to your post. Sorry if you felt that way. :PDT_Aliboronz_11:
The whole point of this thread was meant as a Forum Tip.

Blame? I started it?
Do you realise how childish you sound? It was just a thread and you ruined it.
Nice one babe:PDT_Aliboronz_11:
peace, thanks for the flowers :)
scouserdave 04-08-2007, 11:40 PM You're welcome mate. Try not to let your obvious personal feelings about me ruin a good thread next time:PDT_Piratz_26:
Explain how I ruined the thread?
scouserdave 04-08-2007, 11:43 PM Explain how I ruined the thread?

Shapers 04-08-2007, 11:44 PM http://yoliverpool.com/forum/showpost.php?p=50211&postcount=8
How did that ruin the thread???
Oh by the way did Kev ruin the thread as well?
scouserdave 04-08-2007, 11:51 PM I was stating that this could be done already, it did n't ruin the thread at all
I read it that you were annoyed for me pointing it out.
Not at all you read it totally wrong
scouserdave 04-08-2007, 11:53 PM Oh by the way did Kev ruin the thread as well?
Very big of you, bringing Kev into this:handclap:

I don't know what your problem is with me. I started a thread with the best of intentions and your personal feelings towards me ruined it. That's your problem, not mine. I have to go to bed now, as I have a life to lead in the day time. So if you don't mind mate, I'll bid you my leave, as I have a woman to cuddle up to:PDT_Aliboronz_11:
