This is a photograph I took last month of Stu with one of Liverpool's most famous buskers.

When Stu asked if he could have a photo with him, he gladly obliged. He then started to move his fingers as he played his cardboard banjo - even making the sounds with his mouth.
A real Liverpool legend.

He's a legend in liverpool because everyone knows 'Plink Plink !' Even local radio presenters used to talk about him, and got him to come in the studio.
Even the young kids now have heard of Plink Plink :)

Isn't this bloke a 'tribute' act?
I seem to remember that the original was a small bloke with black hair and always had army webbing around his neck.He used to 'play' on the corner of Button St and Whitechapel. He would give/sell cardboard banjos to the kids.

There was a horrible rumor about him...that he passed (was beaten up by a gang), and now ,I hear he just came out of the Royal Hospital (another forum)..
I saw him years ago, and he said hello to me... Nice chap... Any confirmation if this is true...and is he on the streets again...or in some comfort of a house?

I'm sure someone told me that he was loaded. He said a mate of his gave him some money and he gave him it back saying he didn't need it.

Local radio presenter Roger Philips mentioned Jacko in the Liverpool Echo a few days ago.
Here's a quote from Roger:
'Talking about classic Liverpool characters, there's Jacko who you'd see around town 'playing' his cardboard guitar - I recently found out he's in a home now and not well.
People loved him because he was so crazy - he couldn't sing, he didn't have a guitar but people put their money in anyway! '

Thought he was describing our group then.

I remember a couple of years ago,by Stoniers,in Williamson square,Jacko was sitting on the floor with his guitar, being circled by a gang of young lad's,who to me,were weighing him up for something!? Me,and a couple of mates stood close by,shouting over to him, till the lad's got fed up,and moved on! I think they were surprised anyone would care,if they were going to roll him?
