Are videos okay on this thread? I've started putting my Liverpool photos to music I like, "just for fun" as they say.

Here are my recent ones...

Thanks Kev, John, Marie. John, music on the middle one is by Pat Metheny, but not at all typical of his work- that 1 minute 30 seconds I've used was the only 1 minute 30 seconds on an entire album that I liked.

Its a huge file and takes a while to load - best to just let it load up fully before you start play, which can take a minute or two, otherwise it can stall and go all jittery. Compression isn't as much of a problem as on youtube.

Hi folks

Here are two songs with music written by my French songwriting partner, Erik Sitbon, and lyrics by me. Both songs are on Erik's new CD, "Tame the Ghosts." Enjoy!

This is my first one that is mainly video instead of photographs. I take them with my camera, but it's not great for video. I am wondering whether to invest in a video camera. Anyone know what type would be good to buy - I want one where I can pan and then zoom in on things without it going all out of focus. Also something dead easy and that won't break if I drop it etc etc., and cheap. I just find video a bit more fun that photographs.

PS I know the thumbnail looks the same as the one above, and a few clips are the same, but it's a new video, honestly.

Liverpolitan, that was really superb. I was half expecting the train journey out of Lime Street to be the end of the film.

If that doesn,t put a tear into the eye of ex pats everywhere, I,ll poke them in the eye myself.

Well Done :handclap:

It's good. I like it. :handclap:

I think I remember an interview with the Nolans - or one of the Nolans - and they said how they had to learn parrot fashion to sing the words phonetically in Japanese. I must take some doing as I beleive the Japanese language is very difficult.

Ste, is it you that was learning Japanese? Or am I thinking of someone else ?

Soundlad (http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Soundlad&search=Search) has several excellent movies recording Wirral's high's and lows, especially unemployment in Birkenhead during the 1980's. Some rather shocking images show people clambering onto a landfill site to find rubbish that can be used!

Some night views of Liverpool One and Echo Arena, with a couple of clips I've used in other recent videos.

The embeded version seems to be low quality - if you click on it to open it up in youtube, then click "click to watch in high quality" - it makes a huge difference to the images and gives better sound.

An older one I forgot to put up here. A bit of Beethoven this time - not sure why - it is such a grand vista I think Beethoven is just about grand enough to match the view.

sFQSREc-knk

Again, click on it and click to view in high quality - the images are crisper and the sound better. Also you can read the nice comments - I love it when people leave comments like that on youtube.

I've got a High Definition camcorder now, still getting used to it but attached is a 2 minute video made with it - click on "watch in HD" otherwise you miss all the HD'ness.

Would be interested to find out how others with HD cope with the file sizes. I've got adobe premiere (4) but that keeps crashing, so I've gone back to using microsoft media maker which is the software I made this film in.

I wonder wether some of the lads dreaded seasickness rather than getting stuck into the Argies,
I think one of the landing craft used is now at HMS Eaglet.
