View Full Version : Riise declared bankrupt
scouserdave 03-30-2007, 09:54 AM Madness.
"Liverpool's John Arne Riise has been declared bankrupt by the courts - despite earning around £50,000 every week.
The Norwegian left-back was declared bankrupt at Liverpool County Court on Tuesday due to an unpaid debt of around £100,000.
Riise is listed as a bankrupt on the government's Insolvency Service website, www.insolvency.gov.uk. It names John Arne Riise, gives his address, but fails to list his occupation."

ChrisGeorge 03-30-2007, 02:05 PM Thanks, Dave. It looks as if Riise's people are saying it is a mistake and should not have come to court. Evidently though the lad has been making some bad investments in a hotel etc and is in financial trouble in Norway.
Also found an interesting few comments on Beckham and the LA Galaxy (http://www.metro.co.uk/imetro/blogs/article.html?in_article_id=43494&in_page_id=16#StartComments) elsewhere on the Metro website.
Chris
Tsss, and they tried to have us believe that Everton was the small club.
The Gardens 03-30-2007, 06:31 PM Given his hair colour, he was always gonna be in the red
ChrisGeorge 03-30-2007, 06:36 PM Now we have to wonder whether there was anything more about Bellamy hitting him in the legs with the golf club.
Are you suggesting it was the wrong club all along?
The Gardens 03-31-2007, 04:18 PM Riise came really close to scoring today, I though he was going to open his account after 65 minutes, but it got rejected following a credit check :unibrow:

His feelings were injured today when he got knocked back (https://wwwn.applyonlinenow.com/UKCCapp/Ctl/entry?sc=7LFCRWHP_OST&mc=MBN-HP-51723-52021) from the post:rolleyes:
Cadfael 10-31-2007, 10:37 PM Nice to see a copy of the chap's pay slip via e-mail today! :PDT_Xtremez_42:
Yes, I got a copy of that too.
See they stopped his tickets and meal out of it though, don't think it hurt much like.

It really is disgusting the amount they are paid. But when people want to pay the current prices to watch a Football match then they really do fund people's wages. I've never followed Football, no interest, but how much is this chap giving to charity each month? How much does he give to a local community to help kids?
That's the entertainment industry for you whether it be sports, film or pop stars, Supply and demand. I personally don't go the match as often now as i'm seeing people live a millionaire's lifestyle without pulling their tripe out and bemoaning 2 games a week and getting tired, feigning injuries, wanting mid season breaks, kissing the 'new' badge of the team they 'supported' since they were born every time they move on - mercenries. If they win great, but I wouldn't argue their cause in a pub anymore like I used to, you get wiser and more philosophical I suppose. They will however point to the fact they show up at Alder Hey dressed up as pantomime characters each xmas and I know some do charity work but so would I if my monthly wage could pay off my mortgage and I had 3 or 4 free days off per week.

You forget, he is a foreigner as well. No doubt he gets all the,"perks",
as well, ie free car, free meals in restaurants, clubs, free clothes, etc
£139,000 a month that is probably the average persons wages for
10 years
WHAT!
Do you mean football teams are doing 'foreigners' at the weekends?

Go Ed Ged, I despise modern football as well.
