I was shocked to see plans for a new multi story car park at St John's Gardens in the city centre.

From a report I read over the weekend it looks like work is set to start in early June. Petitions are already underway to save this piece of land. I frequently use the gardens when taking my lunch break from the office and would be sad to see it turned into a car park.

I Park company director, Mr S. Tomlinson said in the report; "This is what Liverpool has been waiting for. Some people have said is this facility really needed? In te nineties my answer would have been probably not, but with Liverpool City Centre becoming increasingly popular, we need to take measures to accomodate the traffic."

Plans are expected to be passed by council officials later today.

Very sad news...

It made me smirk a bit, but that's about all. Who'd fall for something as daft as that?
