I remember these flats well, they were a real blot on the landscape for years.

There's more pictures of them derelict and awaiting demolition in Freddy O'Connor's 'Our City Our Heritage' book.

Can I just ask what you typed in on the Liverpool city library records site to find the pic?

Thank you! for sharing this pic. Not sure if I should amit this, but I went to Netherley Comp in the early 70's, and this is the first and only picture I've seen of the flats since leaving Liverpool in the mid 80's. Are there any pictures of the school?

Mate of mine used to live round there in the 80s, remember walking to his from Belle Vale shopping centre were I worked and someone had sprayed 'Thatchers Beruit' on the side of one of them

When were these flats pulled down?? I think I recall these when coming into the city from Huyton via Whitefield Lane and Caldway Drive. I was only "small" so this may have been around 99/00.

Netherly still Is a boring place to go anyway, nothing but council looking estates there.

The Belle Vale Shopping Centre's a good place to go though...and will be even better after it's been extended!
