Looking at Lindy's holiday pics brought back vivid memories of Portugal. I took these, among hundreds of others, and have chosen them because they were all taken from a tram car as we toured around the city of Lisbon. I just loved that tree root,it reminded me of my Granny's vaeicose veins. The little funicular runs down from the upper level of Lisbon and drops you near the Presidents palace. The blue tiles are in Alfama, which used to be the old Arab quarter, and show the Portugese beating the Arabs ,bringing the Moslem rule of Portugal to an end. Even the delapidated buildings are photogenic and that little tiled house that looks so elegant, that is in Alfama too.
