View Full Version : Tom Slemen Now radio city
Gnomie 03-06-2007, 12:15 AM Tom Slemen is doing an experiment about relaying info to listeners and collecting the information. it started around 10.20 pm and Tom said" i will not give the details out until the last possible moment, so that people cant google." welll its now 12.10 am and Tom will give the answer at 1.00 am. he said think of 14 Thingwall Lanw, Knotty Ash. 20 December 1961. tell him what you see.
I googled straight as he said it and this came up
http://www.geocities.com/stevenhortonuk/knottyashmurder.html
with 2 1/2 hours to go, im sorry but this is a let down. ive know Tom for years. probably wrecked a friendship. but your better than this Tom. i respect him so much. he writes great books and nobody does research like him. but this is a let down.you dont need to do this Tom. you have way more talent. Please Tom leave the Price show and do what you do best. who am i to judge, Nobody, i dont have Tom`s Talent. but i know he is better than this.
Sorry Tom. but i have to be honest.
Gnomie 03-06-2007, 12:31 AM may i add that i hope Tom proves me wrong at 1.00 a.m and comes up with a different explanation.
Thats my website so I have just checked the statistics. On Sunday only 16 people visited, on Monday that has risen to 103, the highest for over a month!
Gnomie 03-06-2007, 12:39 AM Hi Ste
Hope you dont mind me using your link.
I should have shown the place i found it sorry mate.
glad your getting loads of hits though.
Tony.
Thats no problem mate, plenty of good publicity anyway its usually people googling the Cameo and Wallace murders that draw the hits.
Gnomie 03-06-2007, 12:56 AM Ste post your link to your site mate.
You already have at the top of the thread but here goes with the home page
http://www.geocities.com/stevenhortonuk/liverpoolmurders.html
I wonder what anyone who currently lives in or around 14 Thingwall Lane who doesnt know about this murder thought if they heard Tom mention the address on the radio.
Tony, can you please elaborate on Tom's research methods, regarding his ghost books?
BOO!!!
Ste. I've visited your site many times, didn't know it was you. Fantastic.
Gnomie 03-06-2007, 01:11 PM Hi Ged
I know Tom has spent many long hours in the Library looking for info about ghost stories and cases, murders etc.I first met Tom about 12 years ago and he had just started writing his books. he was putting loads of study time in then. im not saying he is the best researcher in the world, just that he puts in a lot of time to find out some forgotten stories. and he nicks a few as well i guess.
Mind you i have spent many hours in the library, looking at micro film, miles and miles of it for church records. it gets to your head at times.
Ged have you seen St Anthonys church records on the micro film? they are all Blue, if you look at that for over one hour you will be tripping man.
Hiya gain Tony. Thanks for the reply. No, i haven't seen those records, only the street directories on microfilm - they're bad enough :o)
Haven't you been down the crypt yet? It's open to the public on certain days, Ron Formby has the contact details.
Gnomie 03-06-2007, 01:21 PM Oooh the crypt. i wanna go. i have asked before but never had no joy. i would deffo be up for a trip down there.
Ged do you know where all the statues cames from. you know as you enter St Anthonys and before you go through the glass doors. there are a few places to light candles and pray. someone told me that some of the things came from churches that are now gone, any idea.
as for the Micro film of St Anthony. if your in the record office then have a look. its wicked. butt funny enough pretty clear.
Tony, I have requested the contact details off Ron, he may also know about the origins of the statues, or at least the priest may. I know some from St. Joseph's ended up at SFX - of course St. Mary of the Angels (the Friary) and Holy Cross artifacts will have ended up somewhere.
Gnomie 03-06-2007, 03:39 PM Lol ged. poor old Ron i sent him an email earlier. thanks for asking him for me.
So you say some statues are in Sfx from St Josephs. where about is SFX? and do you think we can get in to see them?
ta for yer help :PDT_Piratz_26:
Tony. Here is Ron's reply to me already. I have an SFX anniversary leaflet somewhere because last year was some occassion or other - I think it's the St. Joseph statue itself as that is now the old St. Joseph's area parish or 'local' if you like.
Ged - I have already sent Fr Graeme an email about Crypt visits - I will let you know what he says. All statues are St Anthony's originals apart from Our Lady of Lourdes Altar and Our Lady of Sorrows (often referred to as Our Lady of the Docks). Both came from St Albans - Over The Bridge - when this church was closed.
If the people who want to know about these statues contact me I can direct them to articles on website. My reply quicke3r than that from Fr Grareme.
The most recent statue is that of St Anthony of Egypt - after who the Church is named. People often don't know this and think the Church is named after St Anthony of Padua.
Best regards Ron
Sorry Tony. Didn't read your last message properly. SFX is magnificent. It's off Shaw Street, on Salisbury Street. it's still open as a church.
Gnomie 03-06-2007, 03:59 PM Thanks for the info Ged, very good of you
I thought SFX would be a school lol. right i will have to get up there. Shaw street . and find this church.
Tony. Go onto www.scottiepress.org then click on archive on the left menu then scroll down the different parishes to St. Francis Xaviers.
Gnomie 03-06-2007, 04:24 PM Nice one Ged. i know where it is now.
I have a pic of it on my album site lol.
Will get up there , it looks great inside. is it like most churches and only open for services.
Unfortunatley so, all that silverware and that, the sign of the times. (didn't the Belle stars do that one?)
