can this be done? I've got a 20mb pdf file which is documents and pictures scanned in by someone else and it's a daft size. Is there any way I can adjust the size of the document to show a slightly less quality??

Hi Jona
Is it an immense number of pages? Is that what accounts for all the MB?

Fraid not sir, it's a few pictures which I think are massively overscanned. It happens on Word docs too, bung a picture in and watch the MB's climb!!

Can u take screen print of the pdf image onscreen and save it as a jpeg?

I think that's the only way Kev - either that or turn it in to a word document by grabbing all the text and reducing the size of the pics. Ta's anyway!

If you've got Acrobat 6 Pro, use it's PDF Optimizer.

I doubt this can be done using the Acrobat reader but in the professional version it is possible.

If you receive a large PDF document, you can use the Reduce File Size command to try to reduce the file size by resampling and recompressing images, unembedding fonts, compressing document structure, and cleaning up elements such as duplicate background images and invalid bookmarks. If the file size is already as small as possible, this command has no effect. (See Using PDF Optimizer.)

Have you contacted the person who sent you the attachment in the first place to explain your problem? This option always works a treat in my experience.

Take it to a library or an Internet
cafe.
They might be able to print it out for you.
