Danny Williams' bear hunt didn't led to the "outing" of Matt Skelton today - but it did drum up plenty of publicity for the former British and Commonwealth champion.

Williams hired a safari bus in a bid to flush out the Bedford Bear, as he has dubbed the current holder of the Lonsdale belt, in his home town.

Williams and Skelton had been set to meet in a blockbuster showdown on December 3 at the ExCel Centre in London's Docklands.

But while Williams - who pulled out of a July showdown at the last minute - is keen on the fight, Skelton has so far turned it down.

And he is keeping such a low profile that not a word has been heard of him since last week.

Today Williams drove past Skelton's Bedford abode accompanied by photographers and journalists in an attempt to recreate the then Cassius Clay's baiting of Sonny Liston in the 1960s.

Liston famously answered the knock at his door when Ali came calling, but today Skelton was nowhere to be seen.

There was also no sign of him on the streets of Bedford, even if Williams' presence did draw some interest from the locals.

"Matt said I was a coward when I pulled out of a fight against him through illness," said Williams.

"But now it looks as if it is him who doesn't want the fight.

"There's one way to settle this dispute and that's in the ring at the ExCel Centre on December 3.

"I'll show him I'm not scared of him by showing him up for what he is - a big bully. My boxing skills are much, much better and everyone will see that when we finally get it on."

Point is though - will young Danny turn up this time or chicken out like last time?

Hard to call him a chicken though after taking monster uppercuts from Tyson and still standing and then going into a world title shot with little expieriance and lasting 8 rounds taking over 200 punches!

Man he doesn't quit though even when Vitali Klitschko put him down 4 times and got up from all 4 but when he finally was shaky the ref hadto stop it. He also didn't quit when he wentfor the European title but lost. Should of beaten Samil Sam, must of been his mentality.

I don't think he is no chicken though and could of had genuine flu.

He'll beat Skelton. Skeltons terrible and fights like he still does Cage fighting which heused to do first.

Now Skelton's pulled out and is fighting KEVIN MC BRIDE!:mad:

Wouldn't be suprised if Danny was paid to pull out to make Skelton look tuff just to keep him un beaten against Journymen.

Skelton willbeat Mc Bride but fighting Danny would of well been more a stepup for him and more money!:mad:
