I bought a Kodak printer & scanner just before christmas & think its brilliant,
the main reason I bought it was because the ink is so cheap

I got one over 9 years ago when I got my PC but I got the Kodak on about 2 years ago when they came out with the better priced ink. I liked my first one better but Kodak is fine too.

DON"T buy a printer with only TWO cartridges - Black and a colour! as soon as one colour runs out you have to ditch the lot! I've got a HP Photosmart C5180 which has a large black and FIVE colours. excellent quality. Ok, HP ink is expensive but I top mine up with 'euroink' specifically for HP printers. No probs except for the warning messages telling me the world is going to end!

Have a look at the Epson website. I have 2 Epson R265 printers which
take 6 colours, also have an Epson DX4450 printer/scanner/copier that
takes 4 coulours. Compatible inks work well and are very cheap yet
give brill results

I've just bought a HP Photosmart Premium multi use printer , so far very good! four cartridges, black, yellow, blue, red. and a further larger cartridge for black, a good idea because of the greater usage!
I have a HP PSC 1410. Does the job but do my main colour copying in work as it's professional laserjet.

Yes ,a few printers are very cheap and look good buys but its the cost of the ink where they make their money ,Dont go near a Lexmark ,ive got one,the printers are cheap and do a good job but the cartridges are expensive, ive bought refills from 3 different people on the web and they have never worked, they have chips in them or something to tell printer that the cartridge is out of date so must be empty when its not,
i would look into what printers work with the cheaper refills, i am sure there was an advertisement on tv over the last few weeks ,the printer was cheap and refills were also a good buy, i will see if my lad remembers what the printer was.

I agree avoid Lexmark as the printers are cheap, but carts very
expensive and don't last. Have a look at the Epson site and you
may consider using a continous ink system if you print a lot.
