Don't know if I posted this before. I took this picture in December 2005 on Rapa Nui (Easter Island) in the South Pacific.

Well folks I have a lot to learn on this digital photograph malarkey as you can well see. :unibrow:

Best I can do for now. This is my father and myself, circa 1950 on Holt's Field, Mossley Hill. Many of you hopefully will recognize the distinctive tower of St. Mathews & St. James church in the distance.

This was taken in Sao Tome, Cape Verde in April 2005. The island in the background is like a man in repose.

This isn't my own pic. it is my dad working on Coxhead Farm dates from the early 40's.
Don't pick on me for the spelling, that is how it was spelled when I lived there.

Wow, what a special photo. It's amazing how unchanged that slope of grass and treeline is after all these years. It provided me with an instant visual recognition cue, more so than the church!

Thanks, Jericho. I'll see if I can get more sophisticated in terms of digitizing some of my old snaps. Obviously the photograph is much sharper and clearer than I was able to manage in this try. I am pleased that even so the photo had some meaning for you. Later on, I'll try to post a better version of the photo along with others done properly!

Smashing picture Philip.

Can you tell me, where is the Turner home ?
Talking about it the other day (after watching Lilies) :)

We thought it was demolished and the filming of the home was elsewhere.

Thanks, Chris & Lindy.
It's at the corner of Aigburth Road & Dingle Lane, opposite the Ancient Chapel. That's the former Gaumont just behind the tree, on the left.
It opened in 1883 and is still fulfilling its original purpose.
Because the original dormitories couldn't be altered (it's a Listed Building), a new extension has been built (part of it is visible at the right of my photo).

I had no idea the place was still there.
I wouldn't have known the location, although I knew it was Dingle somewhere as I've seen old pictures of it.
I'm even more surprised that it's still in use - I was convinced it had been flattened years ago ! :)

A field in the local park where children once played.
Swings, Slide and Roundabout long gone, destroyed by the vandals.
