The Gardens

2007 marks the 20th anniversary since the demolition of Gerard Gardens. To mark the event, and help promote Gardens Of Stone: The story of City Centre Living in Liverpool during the 20th century, I have created a Pepperesque poster. This includes many residents of the tennement blocks, as well as a number of 'stars' who appeared in films shot on location in Gerard Gardens. Thanks go to Paul Birchall (standing in the George Harrison position, for the loan of the Pepper costumes).
Quick quiz, can you name any of the 'stars' in the poster?
A further free screening is planned at the Lee Jones League of Welldoers Centre in Vauxhall next month. I will post the full details when confirmed.

Gerard Gardens would have been Extreme right of picture,The Stanley Baker sitting Photo on Pauls Excellent work was taken in the Area of the Centre House on the Left of picture nearest parked cars..All the Parked Cars are in the Area of what was Richmond Row,(Which still runs on the other side of the Grey Building Centre Picture,St Anne St Police Station)..It is this Area that is in the opening Scene's of Violent Playground where the Kids are Running Down the Hill Toward Byrom St/Scotland Rd..(Scottie Rd Wallasey Tunnel entrance left of picture near top)..The Kids got Bags of Sweets for Doing this Scene..And this is the Approx area in the movie where Freddie Starr and his gang are in their Den on the "Oller"..
Cheers Kev..Got it working !!
