Hello all,

Been lurking and reading this forum for a while but wanted to ask a question - does anyone one live in/around Tuebrook (specifically Royal roads end of West Derby Road)? What's it like to live around there? I'm thinking about moving down there but even though I'm local I'm not particularly familiar with the area, other than by reputation, and from living in Kenny I know reputations aren't always accurate! My best mate's fella is from that bit of Tuebrook and thinks it's fine but my best mate isn't too impressed - in the light of conflicting opinions I though I'd ask you knowledgable people for your opinions :-) Thanks

Now I've got going I'll try and post on here more!

As you say people are just used to the area they live in. Personally I think that end of Tuebrook is ok. Some of the houses are really well kept, whilst others are a bit neglected. I think some of the houses have been made into bedsits, and therefore the population is a little transient, which is never good for a community IMO. I would always visit any area I was contemplating moving too, at different times so you get a good idea about the area. I don't live in Tuebrook, but know it relatively well.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I've had a little wander round on a Saturday and of an evening to try get a feel for it and it seems fine (well the whole street wasn't camped out on their doorsteps like in my street! :p) but you never know. Agree that a transitory population doesn't help - it's a bit like that where I am now. Thanks for the input, all opinions sought!

Sandringham and Albert rds seem ok. They have been lovely roads in their heyday and still are fine roads as far as I know. They still seem nice when I've been over that way.
If you mean the other 'royal' roads - ie, from Victoria upwards, I would say they are ok the first 3 ; Victoria, Osborne, Marlborough ok - but roads further up I would avoid.

Thanks Lindylou. It was Buckingham where we had been looking, so a bit further up. Tbh the West Derby Road end seemed ok but appeared to deteriorate as you got further down. Agreed that the roads further down looks nicer. Just don't want to end up somewhere no better than where we are now - in all honesty its not bad here, mainly a couple of 'undesirables' bringing the place down, but would be nice to move somewhere a bit nicer :)
