Joining them, as part of the Saturday line up, will be local boys THE CORAL and current media darlings and rising superstars THE VIEW, with many more still to be confirmed.

Any idea what day Pete Wylie's on?
Jericho 02-09-2007, 09:54 AM I can't stand Keane. I don't like the Who much either (they're clearly digging them out of the ground days! Any room for a Gerry Marsden revival?). The rest sounds OK. Hope this can be a regular thing now that the Summer Pops has bitten the dust. The best thing about the Pops was the tent!
Any idea what day Pete Wylie's on?
No mate it was on BBC Liverpool that he's booked but doesnt specify which day.
KNOWSLEY HALL MUSIC FESTIVAL ANNOUNCED
The Who & Keane Saturday 23rd & 24th June
Tickets on Sale 9am Monday 12th February 2007
The vibrant British music scene is one of the most celebrated in the world. Having spawned some of the most legendary events and nurtured a plethora of world-class talent, there is something intrinsically special about a British festival, So, as we look forward to another year of diverse and imaginative music events, it is a brand new 2-day music festival kicking things off and setting the standard for 2007.
Set in 2500 acres of stunning, landscaped parkland and as ancestral home to the Earls of Derby since 1385 the stage is most definitely set for the first ever KNOWSLEY HALL MUSIC FESTIVAL and one of the most breathtakingly beautiful events ever to hit the North West of England. Combine this exceptional location with one of the most formidable promoters in the country and you can see why this is a welcome addition to the summer music calendar,
With such a remarkable location, the line up was always intended to be equally grandiose and headliners for the Saturday tick every box. Legendary rockers and possibly one of the most influential bands of all time THE WHO will be topping the bill for their only festival gig, aside from Glastonbury, this year. Their pedigree precedes them and last time they played Liverpool they sold out 10,000 tickets in 28 minutes. Joining them, as part of the Saturday line up, will be local boys THE CORAL and current rising superstars THE VIEW, plus Liverpool legend PETE WYLIE & THE MIGHTY WAH with many more still to be confirmed.
Sunday keeps the larger than life theme alive with stadium sell-outs KEANE taking centre stage with their lauded piano rock anthems, fresh from the worldwide success of the critically acclaimed second album ‘Under the Iron Sea’. Local lads THE ZUTONS, one of the most successful bands to come out of Liverpool in the last decade, will also be flying the Northern flag with their own brand of psychedelic cartoon punk for their army of ardent fans.
Created and developed by the award winning team behind Creamfields and Rockness and the production team behind Bestival and Freedom Rocks, this two day, premier event is destined a phenomenal addition to the festival circuit.
Organiser James Barton (CEO) Cream/Creamfields commented: "This city has an amazing musical heritage and I know how important it is to the people of Liverpool that tradition is preserved especially as we move ever closer to The Capital Of Culture year. As a company we are totally committed to playing our part by providing events that continue that proud tradition, but by also providing events that people will be excited by. Building on the success that Cream & Creamfields has achieved I am proud to announce this new show and hope that the people of Liverpool will show their support and enjoy what we know will be a great weekend of music."
Organiser Jim King from Loud Sound commented: “We are fortunate to already work on some of the most amazing festival sites in the UK and Knowsley Hall ranks right up there with Loch Ness and the Isle of Wight as a magnificent venue to hold a music festival. The Knowsley Hall Music Festival has an amazing line up with legends The Who performing with Keane, The Zutons, The Coral and probably the hottest new band this year, The View. Great festivals have always been about more than just the acts and having these bands performing at this wonderful site in front of a Northern crowd is going to make this an amazing weekend to experience live music.”
With its vast lakes and uncompromised beauty, this idyllic location is the perfect backdrop for this landmark event and the biggest rock festival to descend upon the region in years. With 80,000 people expected to flock to Knowsley Hall across two days, and many more acts still to be announced this is easily one of the hottest tickets of 2007.

Paul D 02-09-2007, 10:35 AM Thanks.
Paul D 02-12-2007, 04:41 PM I got my tickets today i'm going on the Sunday,i've already seen The Who and The Coral before.:celb (23):

Paul D 02-13-2007, 12:59 PM Who'd believe 15,000 tickets sold in a day?
MORE than 15,000 tickets for the Knowsley Hall Music Festival, which will be headlined by rock legends The Who, were snapped up during their first day on sale.
The two-day festival, which is expected to be attended by 40,000 people, promises to be the biggest music event in the North West.
http://icliverpool.icnetwork.co.uk/liverpooldailypost/news/regionalnews/tm_headline=who%2Dd-believe-15%2D000-tickets-sold-in-a-day%2D%26method=full%26objectid=18615475%26siteid= 50061-name_page.html
This is sooo good and I really hope it sells out and is a success.
I'm waiting to see if I get Glasto tickets first tho, but if I miss out on Glasto and tickets are still available, I'll be going both days!
Paul D 02-13-2007, 05:17 PM I think local people need to support this event otherwise there wont be a second Knowsley Hall music festival,if we lose this then we can all stop complaining that our region doesn't have what other cities take for granted because we'll only have ourselves to blame. It's vital that this is a success for our city to move forward and be considered for future large scale concerts and festivals,it's not like the bands that have been confirmed so far are average. There is expected to be 30 bands confirmed over a whole weekend and for that price that's a bargain, support it or lose it because complacency could kill it before it even gets established.
Lecture over.:p
Paul D 02-17-2007, 10:34 PM Local legends Shack have been added to the saturday line up and I'm going on the Sunday.:crybaby:
Paul D 02-19-2007, 03:50 PM The Little Flames are playing on the Saturday bill,I wish they'd announce someone for the Sunday it's doing my head in.

Paul D 02-21-2007, 03:33 PM Cream Chief Executive James Barton looks ahead to this summer's Knowsley Hall Music Festival and gives a hint of what to expect.
The inaugural two day Knowsley Hall Music Festival will take place this June with headliners The Who and Keane.
The Who will headline on Saturday, 23 June with Keane headlining the second day on Sunday, 24 June. Other confirmed acts include The Coral, The Zutons, The View, and Pete Wylie.
The festival has been developed by Cream, the organisers of Creamfields held in nearby Daresbury, and production team Rockness.
Cream's Chief Executive James Barton has been speaking to the BBC about his hopes for the event.
Do you plan for the Knowsley festival to become an annual event?
“I really hope it is, and I think it will completely depend on how this year’s show goes. If it goes well financially we’ll do it again, and if it goes well organisational wise we’ll do it again.
“But it’s not even been a week since the show went on sale (18th February) and it’s just under 20,000 tickets already sold, it’s a phenomenal response. I’ve never had a show that’s gone so quick out the box office as this show. And there’s only a handful of bands already announced and there’s a lot more to come. So, fingers crossed I think.
“It’s always difficult because you just never really know how people will take to these things until you do them. You sit in your office in your little darkened room plotting and scheming and booking bands and thinking about how you should present it, and you just don’t know until you go out there.
“With this show though I did sort of sound out a couple of Liverpool’s more influential music people, the likes of Pete Wylie and Phil Hayes and just sort of gauge the temperature and see whether this was something they thought Liverpool needed.
“During the eighties I was in to guitar bands, and I still am. I don’t buy a lot of dance music, I love dance music, and I dance to dance music, but if I’m in the car or if I’m at home I want to listen to Echo and the Bunnymen, I want to listen to The View, Kasabian, The Killers.
“So that for me is sort of where I come from. Because we’re sort of dance promoters it was always a difficult one to work out how people would respond. But the response has been amazing.”
Why did you choose Knowsley?
“When you sit down and you try to think about these things and you think ‘What’s missing in the market?’ What’s the gap? What do people really want?’
Cream already run the Creamfields festival
“A festival in the true sense of the word for me brings back memories of when the original festivals began with the Isle of Wight Festival and Glastonbury. Then I spent some time in San Francisco and had the opportunity to go to Bill Graham’s offices, who is like the original promoter.
“There’s been a lot of new music festivals created recently which for me have been a bit too slick, and have been a little bit about telecommunication sponsors, or they’ve just been a little bit too tricky.
“I thought for me, I think about Knebworth and Slane Castle and those sort of places from the 1980’s with the likes of U2 or Springsteen.
“That’s what I wanted to try and help recreate. I think Knowsley delivers that in as much as the backdrop is the house. The grounds are beautiful, there’s 3000 acres there.
“It would have been quite easy for us to have put this in a football stadium or something, but actually it just wouldn’t have any character if we put it there. It would be nice if Liverpool had a venue that could host this.
“There’s no way that any other promoter in the country will sell as many tickets for The Who than we will. I’m absolutely certain of that.”
Which other bands are you hoping to line up?
“My all time favourite Liverpool band is Echo and the Bunnymen but unfortunately I can’t convince Ian McCulloch to do the show right now.
“I think it is really important that we’re going to create a second stage and I know I’m going to get sent millions of demo cd’s now, but there is going to be a second stage which is going to be primarily for new emerging music. The likes of the Little Flames, the likes of Candy Pain, the likes of The Maybes.
“There’s so many great new bands we can’t create a slot for everybody
Paul D 02-25-2007, 12:41 PM Ian McNabb has been confirmed for the Sunday get in there.:PDT_Aliboronz_24:
Andy Pandy 03-10-2007, 12:29 AM I've just booked 3 for the Sunday! Can't wait.
Paul D 03-10-2007, 12:38 PM Well in Andy,I wish they's announce more acts.I was promised a week ago that they would in er a weeks time.
Paul D 03-27-2007, 01:57 PM I got a message on myspace saying more acts will be announced tomorrow,I hope it's more than the ones we already know about, some bands that are mentioned on here are playing the festival but haven't been announced yet.I think it will be more bands than the ones we already know of though.:)
Paul D 03-29-2007, 02:55 PM Apologies to those expecting a new announcment of acts for Knowsley Hall Music Festival. We're waiting on another tasty act and will be announcing our new additions next week! x
Paul D 04-03-2007, 11:01 AM In just seven weeks of announcing the Knowsley Hall Music Festival and a stunning line up of acts with perfect calibre to grace the stately home. Now with just 3 months to go before the biggest outdoor rock event to ever hit Liverpool we can exclusively reveal that Blues extraordinaire Joss Stone and merry maestros of Ska, Madness have confirmed their places on stage alongside the already bursting line up that includes The Who, Keane, The Zutons, The View, Shack, The Icicles and Little Flames.
Now, also confirmed is the inimitable Madness, fresh off the back of their sell out gig at the MEN (Manchester) two months ago. Protagonists of the Ska revival of the late '70s and early '80s they have ruled the festivals as firm favourites for the last 25 years with their prolific, bouncing, beloved sound. Their legendary hits include ‘One Step Beyond’, ‘It Must Be Love’ and ‘Our House’; stunning songs we can’t wait to hear belted across the idyllic landscape at the North West’s hottest new event!
Another news addition is the magnificent Joss Stone; a truly triumphant booking. The soulful teen sensation has already sold an astonishing 7.5 million albums worldwide; won two Brit awards; been nominated for four Grammy Awards; appeared onstage with James Brown, The Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Patti Labelle, Mavis Staples, Donna Summer, and Smokey Robinson; sat for an interview with Oprah Winfrey; starred in two major ad campaigns for the Gap; and performed for more than 200,000 people at the 2005 Live 8 Concert. Stone is indeed one of the biggest UK success stories of the last decade and all before reaching the ripe old age of 19.
When asked about playing the inaugural Knowsley Hall event, Joss Stone enthused; “I'm especially excited to play Liverpool because half my family's from there I've always been a great supporter of Liverpool football club. I love going to the games with my dad. I definitely have fond memories of the place. I love the energy there and going from what I know I think we're going to have a lot of fun. I can't wait.”
And the bookings don’t stop there! Industry legends The Who recently said that if they could cherry pick any band to support them at Knowsley Hall it would be local band Shack who have become local industry stalwarts and made their mark on the Liverpool music scene with their unique Mersey beat twist. Pete Townsend saw them light up a night last year and has been a fan ever since! As pioneers and champions of quality bands, both big and small Knowsley Hall Festival immediately booked Shack at the personal request of The Who!
Continuing to champion local artists the promoters have also confirmed the appearance of 60’s influenced indie rock outfit Little Flames who can cite The Artic Monkeys as one of their biggest fans plus longstanding local heroes The Icicle Works:
"The Icicle Works are proud to be playing at the inaugral Knowsley Hall Music Festival which will hopefully grow to become one of the major annual events in the Merseyside

Paul D 04-08-2007, 10:44 AM It sounds great for the area! But im hoping for a few more decent bands
What more do you want for £40 it's on for 10 hours and you'd pay more than that to see some of them bands do a gig by themselves:question:
It's helping to promote local bands as well as putting on a few biggies,I know The Aeroplanes and The Wombats are playing on the Sunday and The Delta Fiasco are opening up on the Saturday.I'm expecting Echo and the Bunnymen and The Real People to show up and maybe Ian brown and The Charlatans since they are friends of the festival on the Knowsley Hall myspace page, that would be some line up and for a fraction of what you'd pay at Glastonbury.

A 26-year-old man has died at a music festival in Merseyside.
The man, who came from Blackpool, collapsed on Saturday night at the Knowsley Hall festival.
Paramedics tried to revive him at the scene but he was pronounced dead at Whiston Hospital. Police are not looking for anyone else
A post-mortem examination has failed to establish the cause of the man's death but toxicology tests are to be carried out.

I never Kev,the whole day was amazing and I'm not exaggerating. It was a complete mudbath and I was covered head to toe in crap but that just added to the buzz of the whole day.People were skidding through the mud and it was hilarious to watch,I'm in the process of uploading some videos of the day on youtube and I hope they work because I've never done it before. If they work make sure you watch them you'll laugh your head off.One of the best laughs I've had in ages and I'll definitely be going back next year,10/10 from me.:PDT_Aliboronz_24:
Louis 06-25-2007, 03:15 PM i went yesterday and the mud was ankle deep in places, but was still a great day. saw Joss Stone, Madness, The Zutons and Keane. Got a free ticket of someone so went along with him. It was funny seeing people sliding along the mud on inflatable couches!!
Great news you enjoyed it. Maybe the teething troubles will be avaoided next year with better security.
