There are always Scousers in Benidorm, my parents and extended family went every May
I know John, there must be a strong scouse community out there, I wonder if there are any in the programme?

Was not that impressed to be honest. Found the old swinger fella funny a bit. The gay characters wer'nt doing much, Johnny Vegas was just being a fat man in swimming trunks.
The family, the dad played by the brilliant Steve Pemberton, was ok, but no belly laughs.
Maybe the 2nd episode wiil be better.
Thought it was okay, may have been better if it was on for an hour.

It reminded me why I never did packaged holidays. Don't think I'll watch the rest of it. :037:

Bonkers is vile. Benidorm is vile, but has a certain quality. i.e. Chrissy Rock.

Another crappy show is 'Skins'. Do people really string together 6 swear words and say that and nothing else? I'm not a prude and don't mind the odd swear word on Tv as long as it could have happened in real life, that show has swearing just for the sake of swearing another one I won't be looking for again. :037:

Been there many a time on business and pleasure. Amsterdam is a fantastic city, but the huge amount of doped up scum of the earth will kick off one of these days. The city reminds me of a prelude to the movie Night Of The Living Dead:034:
My cousins go there every year, a bit like the devil you know. It's no good if you're scared of heights though as they showed me a pic of their pool taken from the balcony of their 14th floor apartment - it was like looking at a little blue postage stamp - don't go on that balcony when you come home drunk - all the high rise just looks like Netherfield road in the 70s but with a beach and that Sticky Vicky who must now be in her 60s has been 'doing her thing' for donkeys years. Get yerself to the Algarve if you're going away - much more refined.

I remember the very first time in Spain - I'd never been abroad before and didn't know what to expect. I was horrified at the 'concrete jungle' - apartment blocks as far as the eye could see. The noise echoing and you could hear people coming and going in the lift. I looked out at all the high rises and thought like you Ged - that it looked like Netherfield rd or somewhere !!
I thought to myself, 'omg! I'll never stay here for 2 weeks' .. I got used to it in the end tho' (and with some ear plugs to sleep, ha).
I do prefer somewhere quieter and with not so much concrete.
There are lovely parts of Spain though which we went on to discover.
ps,
Ged, one apartment we stayed in one year (7th floor).. there was a definate slant on the balcony ! we made sure not to sit too near the edge !!
I've seen some balconies with cracks in  :)

LoL how funny were the swingers in Benidorm the other night.:D
they are excellent, love the way the old woman called them the most disgusting perverts on earth but once given 200 ciggies accepted it was all a misunderstanding.
200 was a bit much though, when this happened to me, I found 100 were enough. :unibrow:

I can understand, that you like Benidorm. It is not my favorite place. I can understand that many english men look for a sunny place near the sea.
But I prefer others places...

Beautiful photos Marie.
A new series of this starts Friday, looking forward to it.
here's the Sol Pelicanos hotel where the series was filmed, as well as Morgans Tavern, which doubled up as Neptunes Bar for the series.
