I'm hoping I can get some help here. I've recently come across a box that belonged to my grandad. It's very old and inside there is a varied selection of tools. What was it originally used for?

I'm thinking that it's from the second world war but am not sure. Have a good look at the numbers on the front, any ideas?

You can also see the name of my nan, LIL on the inside of the lid.

Any info and help would be appreciated.

Kev,

I've got much the same set of tools (scattered around in different places) from my late father who used to be a toolmaker in Birkenhead. Perhaps you could try down those lines and see if you come up with anything?
