If you don't accept these, then don't register and post.

Rules:

Be Polite and friendly.
Stay on Topic.
No spam.

Etiquette:

Members should avoid the use of all CAPITAL LETTERS in posts. ALL CAPS is considered "shouting" and causes readability issues.
Before creating a new topic thread, you are advised to search to see if a similar topic already exists.
Post in the correct sections. See here (http://www.yoliverpool.com/forum/showthread.php?48598-WHERE-TO-POST-APPROPRIATE-CONTENT-IN-CORRECT-SECTIONS)
When posting your own pictures and acting in good faith, it will be assumed that once posted they will remain. Removing them after a period of time ruins a whole thread, especially when members have commented so generously.
Members should follow standard grammar and spelling rules.
Aim to post in the correct section.
Members should avoid double posting.
Try and respond to topics started by others more often than starting topics of one's own.
When quoting a previous post, one should only include the relevant portion of that post.

Also........

*Don't post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate etc or which violates United Kingdom or international law.

*Don't post any copyrighted material unless you own the copyright or you have written consent from the owner of the copyrighted material.

You remain solely responsible for the content of your posted messages.

You take full responsibility for the content of your messages and that includes the content of external websites & links posted in your messages. Links posted here, should not automatically be seen as endorsement of that website or the site's owners.

Q) What do I do I notice a post/ thread that breaks these rules?

A) There is a 'Report Post' icon which you must use to report a post that breaks the above rules. I can then investigate and edit/ delete/ lock etc if I think it is appropriate.

:: Posts that contain profanity, insults, blatant attempts at baiting a flame war, racial slurs, etc. may be locked/edited/deleted, sometimes without warning or explanation.

Repeatedly posting such comments may result in temporary or permanent suspension of posting privileges.

Cheers

Kev

EDIT [Cheers for the reminder Ged]

Good Practice when posting images

When posting images or photographs, remember that someone owns them. Please credit the owner of the images when posting.

Don't intentionally change or deface images that you do not own.

For example: Images created and copyright by ******** Ltd.

Liverpool City Library and the Records Office images

Yo! Liverpool would like to thank David Stoker at the Records Office at Liverpool City Library for many of the images used.

Member are requested to provide reference numbers with any images that are held at the Records Office at Liverpool City Library or on the Mersey Gateway (http://www.mersey-gateway.org/) site.

Private Messages
Please note that these rules etiquette etc apply to the Private message system which is not to be abused.

If you are looking for help & support then please create a new topic instead of using the private message system.

Personal Disagreements

Find alternative ways of sorting out personal disagreements rather than posting publically on the forum :)

Everyone is welcomehere BUT If you are unable to abide by these, then you are free to leave, ask for your account details to be deleted and use any other forum of your choice.

If you don't accept these, then don't register and post.

Can posters not using their own images please credit the source, if it is not known or you do not have consent, the prudent thing to do is not to post them.

Thanks.
