Hi all
A number of the photographs that I would want to convert to digital format to post here are in 35 mm slide format or as large format slides. What's the most convenient way to digitize these images? Do I have to have the slides made up as prints first to scan them, or is there a direct way I can get a slide digitized? Your guidance most appreciated. Thanks in advance, gang!

It is a dedicated 35mm slide and film scanner and scans 35mm slides and negatives and displays the negatives on screen as positives. It cost less than $100.00., in fact, I have seen it go for under $50.00 on e-Bay, which makes it very affordable. I purchased mine when my Nikon Coolscan died on me and it would have taken over $400.00 to repair.

Hi Sloyne
Sorry I have only just now caught up with your post. Many thanks for your advice. Much appreciated. Does the scanner you have copy full size documents or only items as small as slides? Thanks in advance for your answer.

Chris,I scanned the very old photo Below from 35mm Slide using the Scanner function on my Canon pixma MP800 printer/scanner..Not the Normal photo Scanning function but the brilliant Slide scanning function ..This machine (And no Doubt others on the market but I can Highly recommend this one) produces fantastic Photo results onto photo paper and it even takes your Camera cards and you can print direct without using a Computer by viewing the VERY large on board color monitor,Ive had this machine approx 12 months Chris and may now be updated..if its what your after then check out on google "Canon all in one printers"..you will pay about £200 Sterling for a good Canon one and you will get good rates being in the U S OF A !!.Hope this Helps Chris...PS..It will not scan the larger slides that are about 2 inches Square....120'S I think the size is !!

My EpsonStylus PHOTO RX600 all-in-one printer will scan slides and negatives but I don't like the final quality, to much of a colour shift for my taste, however, it will also scan documents up to and including legal size.
