He's fighting Simpson, the British champion but Simpson's belt Is not on the line!

Matthews ****e WBU belt Is on the line Instead!

Easy win for Derry but no Lonsdale belt with It even though the guy he's fighting Is the Lonsdale Holder!

Paul Smith Jr Is on the show too.

I wouldn't mind going If the Lonsdale Belt was on the line, tickets are still on sale I think.

It's been changed to March but It's for the better, with some quality fighters!

Wish the world title fight was at least a British fighter though. It's between a Frenchman and a Ukrainian.

Matthews Vs Simpson

Paul Smith Jr Vs Alexander Polizzi

Souleymane M'baye Vs Andreas Kotelnik for the WBA light welterweight title.

Alex Arthur on the bill too who Is the best In Europe at Super Feather weight from Edinburgh.

Commonwealth Super Featherweight champion Kevin Mitchell.

Liverpool Welterweight prospect Stephan Burke.

Details of the show here.

90% of the tickets are sold I hear though so I might be too late. I wish Derry wasn't defending that WBU trash belt though and Instead fighting for Simpsons Lonsdale belt as It's an easy win and a classy title.

Former British Champ McKeever from Birkenhead Is added to the show and Woolton Cruiserweight Tony Moran was stopped In Manchester a few days ago.

At 6ft 6 I find It crazy Moran can make 14st 4lbs! I'm 3 Inches shorter and wouldn't make that!

I didn't give Simpson more than 2 rounds

maybe he deserved 3. Despite the flash knockdown and the two point deductions I scored It pretty clear for Derry 115 - 110. Judges had It too wide

though.

Simpson was tough and durable and yes It was dirty but I could see more punches land from Derry and he jolted Simpson's head when they were

clean.

I thought Simpson was being outboxed still for the majority.

I'm getting called a biased Scouser on boxing forums because I though

Derry clearly won and they think Simpson was robbed!:Smiliz_Kingz_PDT_13

Boxing forums have double standards, when John Simpson fought Andy Morris

and won because of a cut, the cut wasn't bad on Morris and should of been stopped. But because Simpson had a robbery In 2004 they sympathize and say he

deserved the win and didn't complain about a bad stoppage.

Derry Is better than that but he still beat Simpson, cut him and even dropped him too the

ropes but the ref didn't count It.

Smith KO'ed his opponent though and according to ITV, he was sloppy In

the mid rounds but they only showed Smith looking good. They said he Is better than though too.

Good puncher.

I don't know much about boxing, but even before it started I thought Derry looked very nervous, had a feeling he'd get beat and

although he won I don't think he looked that good. I'm surprised it wasn't stopped for that cut though, it was really bad.

A Frenchman dressed like a beatle.

Wonder if Derry's performance was down to it being his first defence or coz of it being in Liverpool. Has he had many high profile fights here ?

Didn't the french fella get hammered ?

Does anyone know what those Beatle Suits they wore outside the Cavern called?

I would of laughed me head off If M'baye wore a Beatles wig.

Pictures of the M'Baye fight. Kotelnik wore an LFC T-shirt. Probably trying to win over the fans.

'CRAZY' JUDGES ARE FORCING MY BOY TO CHUCK IT
Morrison's fury at Simpson verdict
By Hugh Keevins

JOHN SIMPSON could quit boxing in disgust after his manager claimed he had been the victim of a controversial decision.

Alex Morrison accused ringside officials of being cowards and the referee of being scared as Greenock's Simpson lost again in dubious circumstances at the weekend.

The 23-year-old's defeat by Derry Matthews in their WBU featherweight title clash in Liverpool on Saturday has left him sickened with the sport.

And Morrison went as far as to suggest corruption has brought Simpson's career to its knees.

Raging Morrison said: "The ringside officials who scored the fight were blind or scared and they can sue me if they like. John's told me he wants to quit boxing now and I'll let him go if that's what he wants to do.

"Referee Micky Vann was too scared to do his job properly, in my opinion.

The crowd made him and the officials think they might not get out alive if the referee had done the right thing and disqualified Matthews. He was guilty of head-butting, low blows and rubbing his open glove against John's face to make sure his cuts opened and worsened.

"The guy's nothing but a dirty coward and the referee should have looked after John better than he did."

The WBU title was Simpson's gateway to bigger purses but Morrison says he is disappointed over his mugging.

He said: "John doesn't come from much in Greenock and this was a real chance for him to earn some decent money.

"Now he thinks the world's against him and he wants out of boxing rather than be treated in that kind of shabby, underhand manner ever again."

Simpson was the victim of an outrageous decision when he lost the British featherweight title fight with Dazzo Williams - so much so the winner didn't even agree he had deserved the win he was awarded.

Morrison said: "He met Williams in his hotel after the fight and he offered John his championship belt, saying, 'You deserve this more than me'.

"There's a tradition that the referee and ringside officials are taken out for a meal by the fight promoter on the eve of the show. I would like to have heard what was said at that meal."

Morrison won't make a formal complaint to the British Boxing Board of Control because he doesn't believe they'll react in apositive manner.

He said: "The ref knew John was getting a raw deal and didn't stop the fight.

"John had a cut so deep the corner couldn't cope with the blood he was shedding after a clash of heads.

"But the referee didn't stop the contest or declare the fight a draw after deducting two points from Matthews for dirty tricks."

The only controversy was the dirty tactics and the too wide judges scores. Theirs fans now calling him Dirty Derry but praise Hatton for his fouling tactics against Kostya Tszyu.
