View Full Version : Foxes around Liverpool
Anyone seen any?
I've seen loads in Sefton Park, but last Monday was different to the rest of the sightings of one.
I was doing a jog after half 11pm and around quarter to Midnight, one Fox was walking along the pathway. Then when It spotted me It moved onto the grass and just stood there staring at me, watching me jog, instead of running into the darkness like they usually do.
It was near the area where theres a closed off to cars Bridge by the Palm House.
You know Maxie I had never seen a fox in the flesh until last year, in B/pool.
I've seen it about 8 or 9 times now... And my heart still flutters every time I see it.
The first time I saw it while walking the dog (on his lead) at 5:30am, it saw me and and ducked behind a big sod of grass about 18 yards away.. and just lay there watching me... Amazing...
I love Foxies (and you) :unibrow:
Sloyne 01-04-2007, 01:40 PM Anyone seen any?Last May (2006) on Allerton golf course.
Paul D 01-04-2007, 01:58 PM I saw one dead which had been run over on Muirhead Avenue,we get loads of them coming over from Croxteth Country Park,I think they're dead cute.:)
Loads of them - I used to cycle to work and would regularly see them in Springwood at around 7am.
Where my mum and dad live is next to the railway and they ofetn get them wandering around. They woke up one morning to find a family huggled together on the other side of the railway fence.
scouserdave 01-04-2007, 04:40 PM Where you been bruv? See them all the time strutting down Seel Street on the weekend.
theninesisters 01-04-2007, 05:09 PM There used to be a family (what's the correct term?) of foxes in the 'Bloody Acre' field which is next to All Saints Church in Childwall. When it was summer, you could only see them from the top of the tower with all the bushes being overgrown.
The picture shows the area..it doesn't show foxes so don't spend all night looking :Colorz_Grey_PDT_16:
ChrisGeorge 01-04-2007, 05:54 PM Hi all
Never seen a fox in Liverpool but I see them regularly here in Baltimore. There has been a trend worldwide for foxes to come into urban areas:

Shapers 01-04-2007, 06:11 PM To get Foxes in your garden, just leave some chickens and livestock running round as bait :unibrow:

Hi Floyd and welcome :Colorz_Grey_PDT_16:
sweetpatooti 01-04-2007, 09:17 PM Funny you should mention that Max - I have seen a fox very late at night out on the front - but a couple of weeks ago my big purple wheely bin (which I keep in the back) was pushed over and all the contents scattered around the garden. Now, I don't think a cat could do that and no dogs can get in the back, plus all the dogs by us are kept in the back by responsible owners. Anyhoo - the only thing I think could do it is a fox. I don't think we have any bears or racoons in sunny Garston - but you never know. Waddya think could have done it?? (We had curry for tea that night - rice was a devil to clean up)
christy 01-04-2007, 10:37 PM Seen loads. Used work of a night and seen them around both the South docks over here and around the dock road in Birkenhead. Actually had one run alongside me for a good while I was running through Crocky park about 5.30 one morning - the fox was behind the hedge but carried on running with me until we reached a wooded area.
Also had one walk into the garage facing the showcase on the lancs while I was filling my car and just walk right past me (within a few yards) to a bin as if I wasn't even there.
Always gives me a buzz seeing them.
