Here are a couple of pic's of the grain silo (I think that's what it was!) just along from the Albert dock. I know it took a long time to demolish, due to strength of it's construction,so maybe it was used for something else? There's one from your side Pabs!

If I'm not mistaken, there has always been a mill there. I think that was why they called it Mill Street. Nice pictures Steve.

The silo has nothing to do with the mill, which was on Mill street. The silo was big and operated until 1975/76, about 5 years after the rest of the south end docks closed. I could never see why it was closed. Maybe because the Seaforth Dock was taking over and not economical to keep Brunswick Dock running. I never did find out. I am glad it has gone. An ugly lump.

A vehicles were doing other things. Not loading grain after 1975/76
Mill street was named after the windmill on that street Pabs. A pic of it has featured on this forum once or twice.
