Terrible traffic jams getting in and out of Speke retail Park. Friends telling us yesterday that taxi drivers are refusing to take people into the retail park because it it nigh impossible to get in and out.
The taxi drivers are complaining that they are stuck in jams not moving for so long - and after drop-offs they are sitting imobile with no one on board for too long.
They can't drop people off outside of the park because there is nowhere suitable to pull over.
I can imagine this situation. I went there once - last January sales .... never again !!
After queuing up to get in, we drove around the place about 5 times before we were lucky enough to slide into a space as someone was leaving - very lucky to have spotted a space and managed to get in. I was wanting to drive away from the place as it was bedlam.
On leaving, we had to get in another traffic queue and sit like zombies waiting to get out.

I'd rather jump the bus into town !!

If u are looking to drive that way and want to avoid the queues, drive under Garston Bridge along Banks Rd, take a right and go down towards the shore and there's a long rd that takes you through the estuary park and out the other side by Speke Hall.

Coming the other way into garston and beyond is just the opposite.

The Speke Retail Park road layout is badly designed in my opinion and I would never ever use my car to drive there. Living only a couple of hundred yards away does help though.

Wasn't as packed as I thought, a normal Sunday up at Speke.

Thanks Kev, will keep that in mind if we go again. :)
