Always making sure we returned before the gate at the Arundel ave. end was locked.:037: Max 12-23-2006, 12:42 AM I go past it most days, gorgeous at night it is. Was a nightmare to climb over once on the Arundel Avenue entrance though, It's high as **** and needed a boost! Scousers who went to fight for the South in American Civil war are buried there too. Scousers who went to fight for the South in American Civil war are buried there too. Also the Confederate Commander Bulloch (the head of the Confederate Navy). The Confederate Navy was unofficially based in Liverpool. Bulloch never went back to America after the war. The first shot of the US civil war was fired by a cannon made in Lydia Ann St and the last official lowering of the Confederate flag was on the Mersey between Toxteth and Tranmere. The very last act of the war was when Cpn Warddell walked up the steps of Liverpool Town Hall to surrender the CCS Shennandoah.
