View Full Version : 2007 Firework Displays
FIREWORKS and a symphony of bells ringing out across the city will ensure an electric atmosphere for Liverpool’s 800th birthday celebrations.
The display on December 31 to herald the beginning of 2007 and the first ever city-wide bell ringing symphony are among the highlights of the anniversary year unveiled yesterday.
As well as high-profile events like The Turner Prize and The Royal Variety Performance, the city will host a year long calendar of events focussing on Liverpool’s history.
Last night, the leader of Liverpool City Council, Cllr Warren Bradley said: “Liverpool’s 800th anniversary provides the perfect platform to showcase the city’s renaissance in advance of 2008, as well as the talent and creativity we are world famous for.
“These creative highlights throw a wonderful spotlight on our heritage and the new Liverpool that is emerging.’’ continues (http://icliverpool.icnetwork.co.uk/liverpooldailypost/news/regionalnews/tm_headline=fireworks-to-bring-in-birthday-year%26method=full%26objectid=18271056%26siteid=50 061-name_page.html).....

petecarr 01-05-2007, 03:15 PM I have almost the same picture. I was out last night getting some shots. It was handy as I could get right up to the building before they block it all off with baracades later today. Looking forward to tonights show :D
Paul D 01-05-2007, 03:42 PM Make sure to take your cameras.:PDT_Aliboronz_24:
Charging my camera up right now.:PDT_Aliboronz_24:
petecarr 01-05-2007, 03:46 PM I spent hours scouting a location last night. Camera is charge, sensor cleaned> Should be good :D

Get some undelete software. It might recover them.
Meant to say I deleted them in the camera.
Don't think the undelete software I'm trying is able to find files in Camera Memory sticks.
petecarr 01-06-2007, 12:01 AM In theory its just FAT32 and as long as you can mount it as a USB drive it *could* work.
petecarr 01-06-2007, 12:07 AM Its one of the file systems used by most cameras. Whether its inbuilt or a card it'll probably use FAT32.
Hell, none found.
Thanks for the advice/help anyway dude.
I took some normal night pis anyway, so I didn't go home empty pictured.
Just ones like the new Radio Merseyside building and some light display thing by Cream and the Pleasure Rooms.
petecarr 01-06-2007, 12:12 AM Nuts :( Unlucky mate.

A SUMMER fireworks spectacular will still mark Liverpool’s 800th birthday – despite a council investigation calling for it to be scrapped. more (http://icliverpool.icnetwork.co.uk/liverpoolecho/news/echonews/tm_headline=firework-spectacular-for-city-birthday-year%26method=full%26objectid=18460196%26siteid=50 061-name_page.html)
Paul D 01-13-2007, 02:03 PM Excellent I hope the weather's fine for this one,a firework display in Winter doesn't appeal to me.
petecarr 01-14-2007, 05:08 PM The problem with summer is that it can still be light at 11pm. Winter is great because its dark by 5/6pm. I suppose in August its not as bad but its definetly easier in winter.

Yeah good point,it'll be in late August when we are officially 800 so it's bound to be light. It'll be amazing though considering this firework display will coincide with the Mathew Street festival,it's bound to leave any tourist with a positive opinion of the city.
LIVERPOOL’S biggest ever fireworks display will be the grand finale of a packed weekend of celebrations to mark the city’s 800th birthday. Read (http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/liverpool-news/regional-news/2007/07/26/city-party-show-to-go-with-a-bang-64375-19520706/)
