I've just received this email from roxio, if anyone's interested.

Introducing Xingtone Ringtone maker

Choose it. Select the audio file you want. Choose from your own recordings, or CDs, MP3, WAV, etc. You select the exact section you want.

Adjust it. Trim the clip, adjust the sound. Preview it and get it just right.

Send it. Send to your mobile via text message with one tick.
Stand out from the crowd! Express yourself uniquely and avoid the high cost of ringtones. Don’t pay to have the same ringtone as everyone else. Now you can make your own custom, real music ringtones from any of your favourite audio - record yourself, your loved ones - even the family dog - or use audio from CD, MP3, WAV, etc.
Make real music ringtones that sound better. You choose the sound, select the exact section, adjust the clip, preview it, then send it to your mobile with a single tick of the mouse.
Patents-pending , over-the-air transmission makes sending your ringtone to your mobile easy and convenient.
Normal data transfer rates apply. Includes 15 FREE transmissions from your PC or Mac to your mobile. You pay only £1.00 / €0.99 for each transmission thereafter.

No cables. No bluetooth. No subscription fees. No hassle

Now you can become a REAL pain in the ar*e!
By the way, that last line wasn't in the email. :smirk:

Hi Sweetche, Did you notice how old that posting was? October 2005! Anyway, if you've got a Bluetooth phone you can make your own. However I must draw your attention to the last couple of lines in SM's post.....
