Why,Frank? there's nothing stopping anyone in this country from emigrating to OZ.

Luck doesn't come into it.

Having a few quid and a missus that will go or just let you go helps. If you can have that then you are lucky!!

Thanks for those comments about me and her
John, actually she is 64 today the 18th March and I wil be 68 in April, I put it down to keeping active , we usually walk every day for about 7 kls and try to eat healthily. The weather that day was perfect, Has anyone seen the Picture /Film Picnic at Hanging Rock , I think it was fictional but I have climbed up it and it does have an air of mystery about , very spooky .

Yes I forgot to mention that the place called Hanging Rock is actually a volcanic plug, it is about 2 to 300 ft high, and very , as I said spooky there are lots of places to fall into as you climb up it , the last time I was up there was with my relatives out from England, we reached the top , and looked toward Geelong and there was a storm aproaching , we could see all the lightening flashes and then the thunder coming towards us , so we legged it down as fast as we could , which wasnt very fast being so steep , but it was very scary to say the least, but as I said if you watch the movie you will see how scary the place is, they do have the Hanging Rock races near there once a year , horse racing etc they do have a race course.

I forgot to mention about a road near there also which we call magnetic road , which when you stop in your car and apply the brakes, and then take off the brakes you seem to roll up a hill , its very strange its obviously an optical Illusion, but the surounding countryside gives the impression that you are free wheeling up a hill . I see there is also a place in Scotland that does the same not far from Stranraer.

Yes Ron , the biggest problem in Summer is the flies, and the mozzies, only seen one or two snakes, the last one was on my front lawn, I stupidly went out to water after dark, silly mistake, and there was a Tiger snake crawling towards me, only a young one , but they are just as deadly as the adults, by the time a went to fetch a torch it had done !!

Hi all

Here are some cellphone pics of the outside of our apartment building after a six-inch snowfall in January.

This was probably the biggest snow we have had here in Baltimore, Maryland this winter.... we have been luckier than others in the northeast and midwest U.S. The snowfall broke some branches on a white dogwood outside and you can see evidence of that in a couple of the shots. It was a nighttime thundersnow event with the snow all coming from one direction, as you will see from the shot of the tree trunk of an elm that is included.

It was days later when I was starting down the brick steps of our apartment house at 6:00 AM that I slipped on black ice after trying to grasp the handrail. I broke the distal fibula in my left leg so am now in a walking cast and using a crutch... last two pics of me with crutch and wearing my "Behold Fartacus" teeshirt.

Chris
