FURIOUS Liverpool supporters enraged by former Sun editor Kelvin MacKenzie's latest comments vowed to continue their boycott of the newspaper.
During Saturday's away match against Wigan, outraged Liverpool FC fans held aloft banners and placards protesting against the tabloid's infamous reporting of the Hillsborough stadium tragedy.
Signs brandished in the crowd attacked MacKenzie and others read simply: Don't buy the Sun.
It comes after the Daily Post revealed former Sun editor Kelvin MacKenzie had publicly said he was not sorry for the infamous front page story of the newspaper after the football disaster in which 96 people lost their lives.
Story continues (http://icliverpool.icnetwork.co.uk/liverpooldailypost/news/regionalnews/tm_headline=angry-fans-renew-vendetta-against-sun%26method=full%26objectid=18205542%26siteid=500 61-name_page.html#story_continue)...
There's talk on one of the LFC fan forums about an organised protest when Liverpool play Arsenal in the FA Cup. (presumably without the clubs consent). A minutes silence immediately after kick off, banners or non stop singing of 'Justice' are the options being considered.
KELVIN MacKenzie has chickened out of tomorrow night's BBC Question Time because he fears an "ambush" by outraged Liverpool fans. more (http://icliverpool.icnetwork.co.uk/0100news/0100regionalnews/tm_headline=%2Dcoward%2D-kelvin-pulls-out-of-question-time%26method=full%26objectid=18218067%26siteid=50 061-name_page.html)
A.D.W 12-09-2006, 09:13 AM One of my most vivid memories of the day was finally getting a train home from the game and seeing a local green evening newspaper stating a number of Liverpool fans had died and many more hurt. Also on the long walk back to the train station the fine people of Sheffield, seeing our Liverpool hats, asking if we were ok and offering the use of their phones to call home - I'll always remember that.
My brother and I were some of the lucky ones. It still breaks my heart when I see the names and ages of those that died.

Hillsborough: The buffoon
Jan 12 2007 - Liverpool Echo
editor Kelvin MacKenzie has changed his mind again, admitting he could have been wrong about the Hillsborough disaster.
But despite being unsure of his facts - again - the ex-Fleet Street buffoon last night refused to apologise for the hurt caused by his newspaper's lies.
Amid heated scenes on BBC's Question Time show, MacKenzie then blamed others for the disgusting claims in the story.
He claimed for the first time that two of the most notorious claims contained in the Sun article, headlined The Truth, about fans stealing from the dead bodies and urinating on them, had come from a Liverpool news agency, a Tory MP and a senior police officer, all un-named.
